"Ahime, there's some one at the door!" called the voice of Ahime's partner. After a few minutes of silence, the door opened, but it wasn't the blonde Warrior at the door, it was Arianna.
"Ah... hello, Kat. Uhm... I take it you're here to see Ahime?"
"Thank you. Again," Kat said, her voice gentle and concerned once more. She tooked the bag off of her wrist and held it out to Arianna. "Here, I've done some baking. Feel free to dig in."
She plucked a couple of cookies out of the bag and she smiled a little wider, glancing to Leormon. "Keep her company? I suspect I'm gonna need to be big sister again," she said.
"Of course, ma'am," Leormon said, nodding.
With that, Kat turned and walked to the bedroom that Ari indicated, and she stuck her head in curiously. "Hello?" she asked.
The room was dark save for the flickering television, which just barely illuminated the covered lump on the bed. At Kat's voice, Ahime lifted her head, revealing a mess of blonde that obviously hadn't been brushed in days. It took her a second to recognize who was there.
"Kat..." she mumbled, voice scratchy sounding, "Hey..."
Kat's eyes took a moment to adjust to the room's lighting, and once they did, Kat made a face. "Ahime," she said. "Did something happen?"
She walked over to the bed and sat down on it, looking at Ahime. She was already suspecting that a soft touch just wouldn't do the trick here, but she had to give it a try...
Ahime's small smile flickered away quickly, tired eyes glancing at partially open door.
"Did Ari call you? I told her... I probably just have a cold. It's nothing,"
But of course that was a lie. Sure she'd felt achy and queasy the past couple of days, and was plagued by a sore throat as well, but even before then she hadn't been out of her apartment in almost two weeks.
"Yes, this world has that effect on people," Kat replied sympathetically. She tapped at her D-Reader, manifesting a canteen of water which she immediately held out to Ahime. "Drink. And when you're done... I don't suppose you want to talk about what you saw?"
"Ah... hello, Kat. Uhm... I take it you're here to see Ahime?"

Leormon raised his forepaw in a wave and finished gulping down his fish cake. "Forgive my rudeness," he mumbled.

"Come in."

She smiled warmly down at Arianna. "It means the meds are wearing off," she added playfully.
"Not the best joke ma'am," Leormon added.
"I'm trying to lighten the mood!" Kat protested right back, pouting at Leormon before looking back at Arianna. "Where is she?"

She pointed to the bedroom where a TV could be heard playing on low. Whether the person in the room was actually paying attention to it was debatable.

She made a disapproving face, and she squeezed Ahime's shoulder. "You're not a very good liar, you know," she said gently.

"Yeah... well... I don't really make a habit of it..."

Her tone was both gentle and concerned, but she wasn't angry in the slightest.
