Nanoha flew back, pointing Raging Heart towards the other her and fired several spheres of magic of her own, intent on canceling the other her's blasts out before firing a bigger beam again.

Agito grit her teeth in annoyance.

"Then where the hell do we find someone who CAN reach her?!" she demanded.

Nanoha smiled, throwing out her hand and generating a pink barrier of energy. Her counterpart's attack splashed against it, and she winced, feeling the impact of it vibrate through her body. That old wound was feeling much more vivid now than before... But she kept smiling.

"THAT'S something I've already taken care of! It's just a matter of holding her off long enough...!"

"Then we just beat her up enough to make sure she doesn't get away? I can deal with that!"

So then, while smiling perhaps a bit too deviously, she rolled up a ball of fire in her hands, chucking it at the other Nanoha like a baseball.

Somewhere in Royal Base lay the sandwich Taichi had dropped at the first message from his old teammate.

He and Zero flew in, Zero already evolved to Aero V-dramon. Taichi's Pawn Chessmon Buckler was almost in pieces from his attempts to block the debris and fire; both were covered in scrapes and bruises from just the journey in. Though Taichi glowed with orange digisoul, it clearly hadn't been enough to protect him.

Nanoha's message had been hurried and vague for it, but one look at the situation before him told Taichi enough.

"Nanoha!"

Even with the Commander aged down by the virus, he was still able to tell the younger Nanoha he was close to with a glance. The way he looked at her was as though there was no one else in the room.

"What are you doing?"

Galan ran through the Royal Base, not even having PROXY with him as he charged forward, getting to where the commander of DATS had told him to run too.

And that was when he saw it, the younger Nanoha in the air, fighting against the Commander... her. "Nanoha!" Galan shouted, digisoul appearing around his body as he leaped into the air, landing on a nearby roof to where the fighting was taking place... and leaving him in complete view of his former master's apprentice. "Stop this now!"

Nanoha's eyes widened as she heard both of the voices, lowering Raging Heart as she looked around seeing Taichi flying in on Aero V-dramon... and Malek-san standing on a roof. The two of them... they were...

She needed to help Alicia-chan, get her away from this evil that had brainwashed her!

... But that didn't make any sense. Malek-san knew what evil was firsthand. If DATS was evil, then he wouldn't be here trying to help them, telling her to stop.

And Taichi... Taichi wouldn't... be tricked. Not like Alicia...

Nanoha's eyes shut as she grabbed her head, feeling like there was a spike of pain there...

The mission. She needed to complete the extraction mission, return the target to...

But Alicia-chan wasn't a target! She was her friend and...

Yeah, Nanoha's brain was going in circles now.

Nanoha let out a long breath, floating back across the sky as the fight subsided for a moment. Still, she wasn't resting on her laurels - she held Raising Heart down at her side discreetly, but it was... shifting, changing form, into Excellion Mode...

Just in case.

She winced, reaching up to rub her shoulder. In this body, she wouldn't be able to maintain any sort of prolonged fight for long... she just had to hope...

Meanwhile, Alicia had finally recovered a bit from the hits she had taken earlier, Nanoha and Agito's efforts having given her time to take a breather. Floating back up into the sky, she held Fauchard defensively, but didn't attack.

"They're right... you shouldn't be doing this... And you can't... You can't fight all of us off at once..."

"... These are who'll get through to her? Hrn. I hope it works then..."

She flew down in front of Nanoha, and summoned a magical barrier.

"At the very least I can support you like this..."

"Why are you fighting your friends, destroying our home?"

Grateful for the break in the fireworks, Taichi nudged Zero forward, closer to Nanoha. He put his Buckler away and held out a hand to her.

"There's no need for any of this. No use for it. Nanoha, please."

Nanoha's eyes widened a bit as she kept clutching her head. "You... no, your'e lying. Your..."

But Taichi wasn't lying. He WOULDN'T. Not to her. Not about this.

And Alicia was fine here. She LIKED this place.

...

The target must be extracted and captured.

...

But that was Alicia-chan! Not a target.

She let out a scream, clutching Raging Heart and pointing it forward at Taichi... before gasping and yanking it away as a yellow beam of energy shot out towards the ground where she had redirected it to.

Galan's eyes widened at what he was seeing. "Nanoha! Fight this. This isn't what you want, it's just what Scagletti is telling you to do. You're stronger than that!"

Nanoha kept Raising Heart at her side, floating around to the other side of the girl. She WANTED to say something, but her words had never been able to reach her thus far... And she was worried that trying again could potentially only worsen the situation...

Alicia jumped in the air as Nanoha fired the blast... but gave a sigh of relief as she saw it redirected.

This... This is what that man she had called 'father' did to people...

...

"I know it might be hard..." Alicia said, trying to float closer towards the younger Nanoha. "But we can help you... everyone here only wants to HELP you..."
