"For the record," Coronamon said, hunkered down and hidden with the turtle. "I think this is childish. I only agreed to this because Tono-sama will not speak with ME, and this is getting fairly well close to ridiculous."
Takeru came to the spot, as requested, at the time given... but, sure enough, did not find his partner anywhere within sight.
Almost immediately, he became suspicious. Particularly, given how Coronamon had been towards him recently... Various possibilities filtered through his mind, and it took an unquestionably short amount of time for his mind to zero in on just what was going on here.
Takeru, his back turned to Mako... well, his face briefly contorted from surprise to a sneer, but then just as quickly again he hid it under a falsely monotone exterior.
Those underhanded little...
This was the sort of thing Chiaki would pull! Not centuries old, godlike beings!
With just a distinct feeling that he felt like he was dealing with children, Takeru cleared his throat glancing back at his teammate.
Takeru didn't say anything for a moment himself. Indeed, expressing himself still was not something that came... well. Naturally. Certainly, he had been trying to WORK on it, but... it wasn't like he much had anyone to interact with besides the kuroko and Hikoma after everyone had left.
And it's not like he'd ever had a situation to deal with like this.
Fighting Gedoushuu really was so much easier...
Takeru forced himself to turn around and look at her.
"... You act like it would be easy," she said, not able to bring herself to look him in the eye. "Continuing on, after something like that... but what happened with us, it's not... something that happens between a lord and a retainer..."
He was really not liking this world at this point. What it could do to people...
"...no," he muttered, that last part of what she said causing a considerable amount of shame to well up within him. He had done his best to make it clear to them that it was their own choices driving them. It was their own decisions to follow him, even when he was lying. And in the end, it was THEM who came back to him, even when he had lost any right to lead them.
"But... it wasn't..."
He frowned deeper, which was impressive in and of itself.
"We weren't in control... this world... took that out of our hands."
Coronamon's eyes narrowed as he watched them. He then bowed his head, feeling suddenly very ashamed of himself.
"We shouldn't be watching this," he said, sharply, but quietly, before moving to vacate the hiding place and the general area as stealthily as he could.

His lips quirked downward.
Dammit.
Maybe if he moved fast enough, he could...

"... Takeru," she said, somewhat surprised. "... I was... here to help PinKamemon with something..."

"...Mako."

"... a trick... I'm very disappointed in my partner, honestly..."
Huffing, she moved to begin to exit...

"...see?" he said, waving his paw out.

"Stop."

"Yes. See?"

"Takeru, I..." she began, before her eyes found the floor.
"I'm..."
She couldn't think of a response, and found herself staring at the ground.

"We're both acting stupid."

She closed her eyes. "I... I always thought, a moment like that would be... be part of..."
Once again, Mako found herself unable to finish her sentance.
