Who: Doumeki, Watanuki, Partners?
What: They haven't talked since that day...

Doumeki could hear the girls chatting noisily outside his door. They were in the kitchen, making a late lunch and talking up a storm. Koto was catching Haku up on events that had happened back in their home world, while Haku was doing her best to explain her complicated extended family to the slightly oblivious UTAU.
He had quietly excused himself back to his room while they were doing that, but in the end he only wound up lying on his bed staring at the ceiling.
He was 17. It was his birthday, and while he'd never really made a big deal about it in the past, it still felt strange to think that the only one making noise was Haku. Well, Haku and her recently acquired, very noisy sibling.
The year before, Watanuki begrudgingly made him a whole basket of sweets, handing it over with a grumble of 'just in enjoy it and shut up'.
Of course he'd never said anything, but the fact that Watanuki had done it at all was... touching. And after everything that had happened Doumeki was actually starting to feel guilty that he'd never properly thanked the other boy for the gift.
Maru had left a message saying Watanuki was bringing something by later, but he admittedly didn't think it was going to happen. Why would it? They'd parted ways. There was no need for birthday wishes or gifts, right?
Thinking on this, Doumeki let out a huff of a sigh and rolled over on to his side, hoping to some how find the wall more interesting, and trying to decide if he even wanted to bother finding something else to do on his day off.
