Who: Watanuki, Conan, partners What: Yuuko thinks Watanuki needs a trip away and sends him on an errand in the mountains with Conan. When: Backdated to Feburary 20th Where: Starting at Tetha then to Poyi Mountains
Maru had not stopped talking since they had left their lonely apartment. Mostly because she was staging a vain attempt to get Watanuki to cheer up some, but also because she couldn't help but be excited to do something for Yuuko.
"So someone other than Dou-kun is going too?"
"Yes, his name is Edogawa Conan."
"Oooooh! This will be fun. You brought the snacks right, Wata-kun?"
Watanuki sighed and held up the basket full of food as they rounded the corner. He spotted a kid standing with what looked like a lion next to the lamp post he was meeting Conan at. Yuuko was now apparently employing children. Wonderful. Next she'd have spirits cleaning the yard for her.
"Hi, I'm Watanuki Kimihiro...are you Edogawa-san?" He asked as soon as they were within earshot.
Conan looked over and then put on his best 'I'm a happy little kid, aren't I adorable?' smile. "Watanuki-niichan! I was wondering if you were going come soon."
"You shouldn't bug someone when they're cooking, Maru-kun. If you do that, then they get scary. Or make you help and then it's not as good," Conan said. He didn't have enough personal interaction with Watanuki to know how observant he was.
So kid act was at a hundred percent.
"We know Poyi Mountains really well too! We go all the time," Leormon said.
"Do you already have the data, Watanuki-niichan?" Conan asked, pulling out his D-comm.
Watanuki nodded and pulled out his own DComm, which was still covered in flour. He wiped off the screen on his jeans and brought up the information Yuuko had sent him. He wasn't great at using it yet, but he was definitely getting better.
"I'm the one climbing in to get it. I've been taught how to use Digisoul very well," Conan said, selecting the data and transporting to Poyi Mountains.
Watanuki followed Conan's lead and soon found himself surrounded by trees. The last time he'd been in these mountains had been the day he'd been transported here, and Doumeki had found him.
That seemed like so long ago.
Maru waved her tail in his face and he looked up, realizing he'd been staring at nothing. "Um...so where exactly are we going, Edogawa-san?"
Conan pulled out the map. "Here. It's a mountain about three miles that way," Conan said, pointing. "It's a been rocky. Chances are we'll have to camp, but I have equipment and stuff, so if you don't, don't worry," Conan said. "Come on," he added and started walking.
Conan chuckled. "You've made s'mores without camping, Watanuki-niichan? The shonen tantei would say that's the wrong way to go about it," he said. "Though in a bit more dramatic way." Those three were always over dramatic.
"I found a recipe back at home and it kinda became a tradition of sorts. But we only had a stove here, so I improvised." He shrugged and tried to ignore the fact that Maru was purposely bringing up Doumeki as often as she could.
"Wata-kun and Dou-kun had lots of yummy traditions!" She smirked and nudged Watanuki's cheek from her spot on his shoulder.
He blushed and looked away. "Maru...you know we aren't...well..."
Maru sighed, "Only because you got scared Wata-kun."
"I didn't get scared. It just won't work. Okay? Besides...he's not even speaking to me."
"Because you aren't trrrrrying, Wata-kun~!"
"Can you just leave it alone Maru? Please?"
Crossing her arms Maru turned her head in mock disgust, "Wata-kun and Dou-kun need to make things better. Maybe if you finished what the two of you started..."
"What?" He asked, surprised that she would even suggest something like that, especially in front of someone they barely knew.
"Well first you kissed, and kissing leads to s--" Watanuki clamped his hand over her mouth and gave her a pleading look to knock it off.
Conan blinked. "Ah, so that's why she sent you instead of Ran-neechan," he said, nodding his head. He'd been wondering about the change. "You're having relationship troubles with Doumeki-niisan?"
"So someone other than Dou-kun is going too?"
"Yes, his name is Edogawa Conan."

"Maru hasn't ever been camping. Is it hard Wata-kun?"
"I don't know...I haven't been camping before either..."
"Ooooh, new~new, camping is new! Ko-kun, this will be fun, huh?"

"I think that's you," Leormon said.
"Oh. Makes sense," Conan muttered and then nodded. "And yeah, camping's fun! Back home my friends and I went all the time with the Professor."
