A new tradition had begun in the Digital World. Its origins lay in the offworlders' tradition of "christmas", which coincided with a celebration that already existed in the digital world. But that was not the only part of it.
In one of his sabbaticals around Meria, DaiPenmon had discovered a strange landmark in the wilderness that had once been covered by ice. It was a large rocky upcropping, in a shape resembling a multi-winged bird, not unlike the fallen Area Leader Hououmon. The discovery triggered memories of his fallen comrade, and of the festival that had not been held since Hououmon's death.
DaiPenmon had decided to combine the remembrance of Hououmon, and the various celebrations that came together at this time, and begin a new tradition. Meria was transformed, now cloaked in a parade of red, green, and gold, with a mixture of decorations inspired by various customs. Individuals from around the digital world were also in the city, selling their wares and new items selected in the spirit of the season. And of course, there was high security to ensure there wasn't a repeat of the horrible tragedy two years before.
As DaiPenmon looked out on the start of the facilities, he couldn't help but feel as though the spirit of Hououmon himself had been reborn...
