"A couple'a months, huh? Well, me and Ashton have only been at this for about two, three weeks now. He's still getting used to this place. We're nothing alike, though. I'm wondering if maybe I wasn't supposed to meet those dragons of his instead of him!" Dracomon said, starting to sound a little bored and giving Renamon another curious look.

Ashton smiled and looked at Azula's handiwork on the plate. "Let's see now, only one way to find out," he commented, poking the steaks with a fork experimentally. "Not bad! This should do nicely! Okay, now I want you to prepare a pot with five cups of water. I'll measure out the seasonings the stew will need, and when we're both done, I'll show you what's going in, and how much of it I'm using. And after THAT, I'll finish cooking our lunch."

He offered her yet another of his bright smiles and gestured to the steaks she'd put on the plate. "See? All you needed was a good teacher, and some idea of the fundamentals. This is going just fine," he told her. "It'll take around four hours for everything to cook properly, but after that, it will be done and ready to eat. I can show you how to do the cookies a bit later, after we eat."

"You'll get used to him, I suppose...Azula and I really weren't that close until she and Shego decided they wanted to take over the world...They decided it wasn't worth their time in the end though...A lot of people and digimon around here still resent them for that, I don't blame them, but I really don't think they have much to worry about anymore," Renamon said, her voice filled with a bit of boredom too. She was tempted to challenge the other digimon, just for fun.

"...Four hours?" Azula asked in a slightly whiny voice. She was known for having little to no patience with anything, " I suppose it'll be worth it in the end..." She sighed, measuring out the five cups into the biggest pot she could find. She set it on the counter next to the seasonings he was measuring out.

"Take over the world, huh? Now THAT sounds pretty fun. Prone to disaster, but fun," Dracomon commented, his interest perked. "The bonding that Ashton and I did mostly came over the huge bungle in the jungle with all those Dokugumon. THAT was fun."

"Good cooking takes time," Ashton said, winking at her knowingly. "But don't worry. Stew is very low maintainence once you've got everything in the pot. You can even leave the house and run errands, read a book, anything you want to pass the time! When I make stew, I usually take it as an opportunity to work out."

Ashton beckoned her over to him where he had measured out an assortment of spices. He had Azula look at them to get an impression of the future amounts that she might be using, and he handed her a notecard that he scribbled with the list of spices. Then, when she indicated that she got it (or maybe didn't get it, as cooking may go), he deposited the appropriate spices into the water, along with the sliced steak.

"Bungle in the jungle?" Renamon snorted, holding in her laughter, "That's a great way to put it."

"...And it won't like...explode all over the place...?" She asked, trying to hide the astonishment in her voice as he showed her what to do next. She understood, for the moment anyway.

"Well, it's about what we had to face. Talk about a disaster, if it wasn't for me and the dragons, everyone would'a been spider food!"

"It shouldn't, no, not unless you forget to turn down the heat after everything is done," Ashton said, smiling. "The meat needs to cook on its own for a while, so we'll just leave that and come back to it a little later with the vegetables. Put those in the fridge so that they can stay chilled, we'll put them in the stew later. In the meantime... I'll finish making lunch. Some steak, bread, and mixed veggies sound good to you?" he asked as he started preparing the utensils for their lunch.

"Haha...Azula saved my life...I actually got bit by one of the Dokugumon and I guess Azula dragged me through the mountains until she was nearly dead herself before Shego came to find us..."

"Sounds fine to me," While it wasn't the kind of meal she'd expect back home in the palace, it was better than just PB&J. She rounded up her chopped vegetables and put them in the fridge, like he said. She then went to a cupboard and pulled out two glasses.

"What do you want to drink? We have orange juice, soda and water."

"Ow, that's rough," Dracomon said with genuine sympathy. "I saw a couple of people get bitten too. That venom is nasty stuff. Still, good thing that Azula was there! I wonder if Ashton would do that for me..."

"What's soda?" Ashton asked blankly. "Oh, um... well, water would be fine," he added, laughing nervously at his display of ignorance.

Leaving a prepared pan on the stove on low heat, Ashton went to work slicing the browned beef cubes into thin strips at an almost unbelievable speed. Now that he wasn't instructing Azula, he didn't need to move slowly so that she could learn. With the beef in the pan, Ashton immediately got to work dicing carrot slices, and then added brocolli, and diced onions to the pan. He finally added some seasoning to the mix, and left the mixture to heat. He suspected that she would enjoy a beef sashimi and vegetable stir fry...

It wouldn't take long to prepare, but he wanted a bit more time to make some bread. While the pan was heating, he set to work quickly on preparing some dough to cook.

"He seems like a nice enough guy. He doesn't seem like the type to just ditch you....So what's the deal with the dragons coming out of his back?"

"Its basically carbonated water with flavoring in it. I'm not fond of it personally, but its full of caffeine and Sokka's a total caffeine addict. You want to try some?" She asked, pulling out the carton of orange juice and shaking it up before she poured a glass for herself. As she placed the carton back in the fridge, she watched him prepare the meal with lightning speed. Azula was awestruck for a moment, but then went back to her own business.

"I'm not really sure, he acts like it's pretty normal, though he has complained about them a lot..." Dracomon admitted. "I think they have kind of a love-hate relationship going on..."

"Well, sure, why not?" Ashton said as he continued preparing the dough for their bread. "I'm always open to new things. Who knows, I may like it!"
