"What's wrong?" Stormy asked the stranger scanning the crowd for an attacker or something that was obvious.
Patamon had been knocked from Stormy's shoulder upon impact and fluttered around in the air confused and nervous.

"It's here, it's here, don't you see it?!" She fought against Stormy, trying to keep running. "I have to get away... I have to get away!!"

Patamon was beginning to panic however "W-what's coming where? I can't see it!!!"
Stormy guessed roughly the direction Machi had been running from, unable to see anything coming she decided swiftly and took Machi's hand "This way!" She tried to tug Machi along through the crowd in the direction of a clothing shop.

-and her legs suddenly seemed to give out. A year and a half in a coma would do that. Even after months of recovery, it seemed she was still not up to full strength. She fell forward abruptly, still holding Stormy's hand.
And when she opened her eyes, she could almost hear Mr. Garaku's voice. "How would you kids like to play a game?"
She didn't know who he was talking to, but she screamed out, "No! Don't listen to him! Don't!!"

"Whatever we're running from I can't see it." She growled to which Patamon panting called back "Me neither!"

She reached her neck back and, horrified, saw not the streets of Tetha, but the cave where she and the other Zearth pilots had first met Mr. Garaku - Kokopelli, as he'd claimed - and signed away their lives to the giant robot.
And all of them were signing the contract...
"NO!" She screamed, struggling futilely and fighting back tears. She was useless, unable to stop it. And then...then the scene faded away and only Tetha was left. Not even Zearth stood on the sidewalk.
Machi still cried, her body shaking.

Well she was back now with a crying traumatized girl.
She gently set the girl down on a cushioned bench in the waiting area just inside the doors. "It's gonna be OK, we're in a safe place now."

Her chest clenched as she remembered her friends, happily thinking they were going to be playing a game and instead-
"I-I killed them!" She blurted without thinking. "I k-killed...all of them..."

"Come on now, talk to me. My name's Stormy. Tell me what you saw."

Her hands still shook. It had been so long since she'd seen Zearth, yet it still terrified her. "I'm scared of dying..." It seemed a few years hadn't changed that.

"Try me, just ten hours ago I was a ghost haunting my old apartment to comfort my boyfriend, then I magically end up in this other world with talking monsters because a computer god decided that I was going to help save this world. After all that I'll believe anything."

But as long as there was life, there was the robot battles. At least, that's what she thought. Hadn't the worlds they faced been eerily similar to her own? Hadn't the world of the others' been eerily similar to her own? So then maybe...maybe this world...
No. No, she couldn't hope too much. Hope was all she had, but she couldn't allow herself to give in to it.
"...a giant robot." Her worlds tumbled out of her mouth, tripping over each other and getting caught on her tongue, but Stormy would most definitely be able to hear them.

"No," she rasped. "It's the robot that my friends piloted. And the people from my world."
She realized she probably wasn't making any sense.

Filling one up for Machi she slid the glass to her, "Have some, and then start from the beginning. I get the feeling this is something you need to get off your chest."

"People aren't supposed to get close to me. When they do, bad things happen to them."
