"... what do we have here?"

A voice, high and unhinged, rang out from the shadows surrounding Teto. "A woman... yes... I used to kill those. It's been so long... I haven't been out... those digimon... they turn into dust, but you can... kill them over and over again..."

With a heavy clang, Barry the Chopper emerged from the darkness.

"... Hiiii...."

That voice was enough to make Teto jump up, turning around to face the shadows, her eyes set in a glare.

"Go away. Teto-chan claimed this spot first, so find your own spot."

But then, his words registered in her mind ... from those words, she could assume what he intended to try. And though she remained silent for several moments, her breath hitching ... eventually, she couldn't help but laugh.

"Kill! Ha! HA! So you want to kill Teto-chan?" She gave off a laugh that seemed almost inhuman (and it probably wasn't, considering the robot that she really was); the truth here was that the real, true Teto was cowering.

The virus was taking over. The chimera was beginning to show. And the wings and tail that she was usually able to hide under the guise of her normal self were beginning to show.

She smirked.

"Try it."

"... You're cocky. And full of yourself. Just like my wife."

Barry let out a shrill laugh before launching himself at Teto, swinging his machete at her in a wide arc.

Her eyes widened, and she did what she could to get out of the way of the machete ... buuut alas, she wasn't quick enough, and it cut her arm clean off. For a moment, even the chimera was shocked.

But then, she growled. Her pigtails became drills. And she screamed in rage.

"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS! TETO-CHAN WILL MAKE YOU PAY!"

Barry froze when he saw her arm come off. He fixated on the severed limb, and not on the screaming android.

This person. She wasn't human. Like... some horrible creature made of only automail.

Or half of the meatless creatures in this entire damn city. His Demon Seal pulsed. He had been fooled. He wanted to hurt someone human.

"LIES! HORRIBLE LIES!" he roared, charging at Teto with the intent of backing her into the rear of the alley. "I'LL PUNISH YOU FOR LYING!"

There really wasn't much Teto could do, backed into a corner like this, but she growled anyway, and, making the best of what she had, even while enraged, she blindly went in and tried to attack with her hair drills.

"NO LIES HERE!" She screamed. This was a last ditch effort. The conscious part of Teto, the real, humanlike part of her, knew that this might mean she'd be completely dismembered, and shut down as a result. And that part of her was frightened.

Because that part of her knew how alone she really was. That part of her knew that there was nobody who would be willing to put her back together if it came to that. Things were ruined with Dell, and it wasn't like any of the others actually cared enough.

And none of her fellow UTAU were here to help her ...

She really was alone.

On the outside, though? The Chimera was far from realizing that as she charged right in and tried to land some sort of hit on her attacker.

The drills smashed against Barry's armor, sending cracks through it and metal flakes splintering out through the air.

But that didn't stop Barry. He sliced, chopped, and cut relentlessly, forcing Teto back against the rear wall of the alley with every hit.

"LITTLE GIRL LIES ABOUT BEING HUMAN! AT LEAST I HAVE THE SENSE TO LOOK LIKE A HORRIBLE BEAST! FILTHY GIRLS IS A BEAST WHO LIES! WORSE THAN A HOMUNCULUS!"

It didn't take too terribly long for other parts of her body to fall apart, and the basic 'nerve receptors' that she had within her to help make her more human finally started kicking in, giving her small, shocking, painful feeling with each cut to her. She cried out every time she felt it.

It didn't take long before she fell to the ground, several parts of her mechanical body dislocated from her body. Wires protruded out, sparks appeared at some of the dismembered areas. Her clothes were tattered and torn.

She suddenly wished he would stop. The chimera had receded, and the conscious part of Teto that had previously cowered had returned. She knew she must have had tears in her eyes, if she wasn't crying already. But she didn't care. Now that the chimera had gone back inside of her, she just wanted it to end.

Barry stood over her, red eyes gleaming in the night.

"Lying... stupid... hrn... took away my big comeback... Not even worth finishing..."

He turned around, and began shuffling away, disappearing into the shadows from whence he came.

Honestly, she felt pathetic. All she could do was lie there and wait to shut down. Wallow in her own self-pity. She couldn't pick herself up and move somewhere. No, she was far too broken for that.

So this is ... what it's come down to? Teto-chan is alone ...

Her nerve receptors were badly damaged along with most of her body. But she knew she must have been crying.

"You're not alone."

The voice was suddenly there, along with a cloaked form that was looming over Teto. His eyes burned red, and he had a twisted pair of horns, along with a prominent set of wings.

She was barely able to see, but her hearing seemed to be fine, if not a little frazzled at the moment.

She tried to look for the source of the voice. But she found none.

Either Teto-chan is going crazy before shutdown, or ...

"Teto-chan ... is not?" She answered weakly, the robotic sound of her voice coming through a little stronger than usual.

"... I am like you. A misbegotten creature, set apart from everyone else. One that can only be hated by anything that lives."

That wretched, fanged mouth curled into a smile.

"And in return, I have given them back hatred. Hatred for their very existence... a hatred that will see the world burn. Tell me Teto..."

He spread his wings, moving them around her, and causing the android to float upwards off the ground.

"... do you hate the world as well?"

She felt so on the verge of a shutdown ... and yet, she was listening as attentively as she possibly could.

Teto's lips pursed into a thin line, before she opened her mouth and began to speak again, just as weakly as before.

"N-Not ... not the world. But those ... t-those Vocaloids. Teto-chan hates them. Teto-chan hates them so much."

Even the one she couldn't stop thinking about. It was probably safe to say she hated him for that fact alone.

"... eheheheheh. It's a start."

He brought out a hand, and touched it to Teto's forehead... a Demon Seal of Wrath appeared there.

Then... Teto's body began to fix itself. Or rather, Daemon began to fix it, calling the parts back and mending what was broken.

Wait, wait.

Her body was mending itself ...? What was this power she felt? What was he doing to her?

... whatever it was, it was fixing her in more than half the time it normally would have taken. And she enjoyed that thought.

Teto brought a hand in front of her face and moved her fingers as it was mended, eyes widening at how quickly it had been repaired, and how well it moved despite being dislocated from her body only moments ago.

"... Who are you?" She finally asked, looking up toward her savior with those same widened eyes.
