What: Waiting on a friend...

Where: Doumeki & Watanuki's rooms at the Hinata Inn; Tetha
Doumeki had been released from the hospital the day after he'd been attacked, however the nurse had given Watanuki (who had volunteered as caregiver) not to let him out of bed for at least a week. So for the past couple of days, Watanuki had been dutifully cooking, cleaning, and trying to smile for his injured friend. But as the hours wore on, Watanuki began to feel like things were still strained between them, even though he had managed to avoid Doumeki's questions about his new injuries and Maru's current state.
But now Watanuki was at a bit of a loss of what to do. He hadn't started working for Yuuko-san again yet, and with Doumeki injured he wasn't planning to start for at least another week. He'd cleaned both apartments, had planned dinner, cleaned again, and now was staring at a few lone dust bunnies hiding under the couch. With a sigh he took off his apron and head scarf and walked into Doumeki's room. Strangely he'd found himself in Doumeki's doorway a lot in the past couple days. Watching the other boy sleep until he moved in his sleep and Watanuki skirted away; not wanting to be found out.
Now, leaning against the door frame he watched Doumeki's chest rise and fall with each breath. It was comforting being able to see him breath. It meant he was still alive. Still there for others to see and talk to and touch. Reassurance that although things may have turned out badly, and he'd been an idiot, and a jerk, things could get better.
