Dell was so startled by Teto's entrance, that he dropped what he was working on. Namely his own arm.

"WHAT?!" he exploded. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"

And while Teto had been doing somewhat of a good job of composing herself, that set her off.

"JUST WHAT THE HELL DID YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING, GOING OUT THERE AND GETTING YOURSELF HURT LIKE THIS?! IS IT BECAUSE OF HAKU-CHAN?!" She stomped her feet as she marched right up to him, poking a finger at his chest and clenching her other hand as a fist at her side, eyes set in a glare. If he looked closely, he'd probably be able to see those tears she was holding back.

But hey, that's if he was looking.

"YOU'RE AN IDIOT, DELL! AN IDIOT! A FOOL! STUPID, STUPID IDIOT!"

She calls you names because she cares, Dell.

"... If you're going to yell at me," Dell said, after a long pause, "then guess what? Kaito already did a better job."

He picked up his arm, and tried to get back to work on it.

Teto growled. He was an idiot. He really was an idiot. And because he was an idiot, she had every right to ...

She didn't even know why she cared. She really didn't.

Teto gave him a kick to one of his legs, wandering over to one side of the room, arms crossed over her chest. She was still angry. Very much so.

"I don't know why I even bother to care," She said, mostly to herself, but at this point, she was so out of control with her emotions that she really didn't give a flying fuck if he'd heard it.

"I don't either," snarled Dell, looking up at her in annoyance. "The people who are supposed to be my friends come to yell at me when I've lost an important person. I thought you agreed to HELP me, Teto, but instead, you treat me like an idiot when I'm coping the only way I know how...!"

She whirled around and glared at him again, tears rolling down her cheeks now.

"I YELL AT YOU BECAUSE I DO CARE, OKAY?! AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, I'M COPING WITH YOUR STUPID STUNT IN THE ONLY WAY I KNOW HOW TO!"

"STOP YELLING AT ME!" Dell screamed, holding his head with his remaining hand. "IT WAS NOT STUPID! HE KNEW SOMETHING! HE HAD TO PAY FOR IT! HAKU MIGHT BE DEAD, DON'T YOU GET IT?!"

"YOU STILL GOT HURT!" She screamed right back at him. "You still ... you still got hurt!"

"HAKU-CHAN WOULDN'T WANT TO SEE YOU HURT FOR HER SAKE! I KNOW, PEOPLE ARE MISSING! BUT NOTHING'S CONFIRMED YET, OKAY?! NOBODY WANTS TO ..." She paused a little bit, feeling herself inhale a sharp breath, trying to keep from showing any more emotion than she already was.

"I .. I don't want to see you hurt ... nobody does."

"... You... you shouldn't be the person to tell me I'm an idiot," Dell responded, his expression actually softening.

Then? He did something he hadn't really planned on.

He grabbed her by her shoulder (only one, as he has only one arm) and kissed her. Partly out of a need for something in his time of need, and partly out of an entire lifetime of spurning emotional contact finally hitting its own event horizon.

For a moment, Teto couldn't process anything. She felt a little numb, and didn't even realize his lips were on hers. And a part of her felt like ... no, she didn't even know what she felt. But before she could think on it, she closed her eyes and returned that kiss.

Dell continued to hold it, a bit desperate and forceful as he did so, not wanting to break off contact with her. And he continued to do so, being rather clumsy and... well, it was obvious this was the first time he'd kissed someone.

It was a little bit into the kiss that Teto came to her senses, breaking off the kiss abruptly and pushing him away, cheeks flushed and a bewildered expression on her face.

As she came to terms with it, though ... she looked up at him again, lips set in a thin line.

"W-What the hell do you think you were doing?" She asked. Somehow, it came out much quieter, and less angry than she'd intended it to.

"... Something stupid apparently," Dell growled, backing away and bracing himself to be hit.

It was quiet, but the words "Damn Right," came out of her mouth, just before she kicked him, then made her way toward the door.

Dell winced. As it happened, he had been damaged in his leg as well.

"Teto, wait!" he said, trying not to fall over.

Teto whirled around at the sound of her name, glaring at Dell again.

"I'M NOT HER REPLACEMENT, DELL!"

She didn't know where that came from, but as she thought about it a little, it ... made a little bit of sense.
