The crime scene was something a bit too close to home for Mina - particularly with the incident with Mary Jane not only two months prior. And the fact it was a Tamer much younger?

It didn't help that it made her worry about her brother back home.

For the time being, Mina decided to stay in her normal form but allowed her partner to evolve into Meramon just in case. Upon hearing Natalia's call, she went to make her report.

"Mina here, captain! So far, it's quiet..." Mina said.

Yuka let out a sigh as she looked around, Tsukaimon resting on her head for a moment. This... well, this wasn't something either of them were really used to. Back home anyway she was never put on security detail...

But she was here now, and this was the mission that she was given.

"Nothing yet," Yuka answered to her captain's call, still not sure what to think of her really.

"I see," said Natalia, sighing. "Well, I want each of you to make a perimeter search... I'm masking positions on the D-Comm map. I want us each to head to the one nearest to us, until we've covered the entire perimeter. Understood?"

And she sent the program, three x's appearing on all of their D-Comm maps.

As she heard Natalia's orders, Mina nodded slightly. "Understood."

"What do you think we should do?" Meramon asked as Mina got the X-marker on her D-Comm map.

"Follow directions for the time being, you know that...!" Mina said, a bit annoyed that her partner asked that in the first place. Noting the closest one to her, Mina began heading in that direction, on guard.

"Got it," Yuka said, before she started heading to where the nearest X marker on her map was.

Natalia and Leormon headed to their own marker, with Natalia a bit distracted. Leormon was a superior tracker though, so he kept his eye out.

And true to form, he stopped, the fur raising up on his back.

"... Leo? What's wrong?"

"There's someone here," Leormon replied, looking about. "But I can't tell wh-"

Leormon didn't have a chance to finish his statement, because the next thing that happened was them being assailed by a pair of snapping jaws, and Natalia screaming.

As Mina reached her mark, she and Meramon heard Natalia's scream, quickly turning to where the screams came from.

"CAPTAIN NATALIA!" Meramon shouted. Without a second though, Mina pushed off, heading back for Natalia. In no time flat, her transformation took place, changing her from a teenaged girl to an older, fairy-winged Guardian. Extending her wings, Mina took to the skies, Meramon right behind.

"CAPTAIN, HANG ON!" Mina shouted.

"Shit!" Yuka shouted as Tsukaimon flew off her head. She just HAD to be BORED, didn't she. "Tsukaimon!"

"Got it!" the small digimon shouted as he evolved to Devidramon and took to the sky while Yuka ran towards where Natalia was supposed to be, realizing her zweihander as she ran.

When they would arrive, they would find Natalia not hurt... but rather, Centarumon fending off a red wolf-like digimon who had clamped down on his arm.

Natalia? Was fending off more of them with her arrows. They were Fangmon, at least six in number.

As Mina reached the scene, she dropped to the ground and skidded to a stop, HOPING that Natalia doesn't start asking about the change in looks or the fact that she's out of uniform...

As Meramon caught up, the two noted who they were dealing with.

"Fangmon. Six of 'em... two each?" Meramon said, musing slightly.

"Let's drive them off...!" Mina said, holding out her hands as the lightning-like Quintessence danced out and towards her attackers with Meramon's Burning Fist attack following suit.

Yuka snarled as she saw what was happening, and since she remembered that Mina was just an alternate version of Will, didn't give the costume any question. "Devidramon!" she shouted as she ran forward, swinging her sword down at a nearby Fangmon. Where was her...?

Beams of red light started falling down from the sky, and Yuka knew she had her answer.

Natalia fired off Blast Edge, blasting off the Fangmon that was chewing on her partner's arm. Centarumon was then free to blast it, and another, with Hunting Cannon.... just as they others arrived and delivered attacks of their own.

Yiping, the Fangmon all fell back, each one of them wounded by the DATS members' assault.

"Yuka, Mina, to me," Natalia said, narrowing her eyes as she trained her bow on the canine digimon.

As the Fangmon ran off, Mina kept herself prepared for anything, deciding not to revert back for the time being. Joining Natalia's side, she let out a small sigh of relief.

"Are you okay, Captain?" Mina asked, slightly worried.

Yuka moved back and stood at Natalia's side, her blade raised as she eyed the remaining Fangmon, waiting for her orders.

The Fangmon hadn't run off, they were just lined up, growling, snapping, and whining.

"I'm fine," said Natalia, glaring at the beasts. "Do you think these creatures had something to do with the attack?"

"They appear wild m'lady," replied Centarumon. "Impossible to say for sure, really..."

"I wish I knew..." Mina asked. "They might have, but..."

"One thing's for sure, they're not giving up." Meramon said, noticing the beasts. "...and I don't think it's over..."
