Nariko had thought it would be a good idea to make things up to her mother. Not getting her anything, and then blowing her secret like that... she had to do it, for her own pride at the very least.
So, she was at a store, with Betamon, with an eagerness to spend some of the money she'd saved from working at the hotel... as well as an eagerness to take a break from that, and all the slinking she'd done around Neon.
