Fate sat in her office, looking over a file of a matter she'd been considering for some time... as well as waiting for one of her subordinates to arrive.
The file? Concerned Barbamon... the (currently) most perplexing of the Seven Great Demon Kings. What was his goal? The matter regarding Koushirou and Neo was strange enough, and then there was what he'd done through Anise. Nevermind his backing of Jack Spicer and Kurata, and then his seeming abandonment of all his criminal enterprises in Neon.
It almost seemed as if... he was hurt by those latter events, and not just by Kurata's defeat. And he had said things, strange things, that led Fate to believe his goals weren't the same as the others...
... There was only one way to get the answers they needed, and Fate hoped it wouldn't be something she and DATS would dearly for.
