Tiffany half dragged Sandy along behind her as they arrived for whatever training could be offered. While Tiffany would never consider herself a great fighter perhaps Negi or one of his friends could help her with her shield spells. They just weren't holding up as much as she wanted.

"Why are we here again?" Sandy complained, "I've already used my card before I know how it works."

"Because we gotta learn other cool ways to kick butt!" Gotsumon spoke up eagerly. He'd tied a bandanna around his head that said "Fighting spirit" and was hoping to learn something awesome.

Sandy sighed, sure she wanted to help and learn how to be strong, but she also really didn't want to have people around while she struggled with it.

"Rock paper scissors?"

"Rock."

"Paper."

"Dang. Best two out of three?"

Optimus smirked as he patted Caleb on the shoulder. "Next time Caleb."

Trundling up to the pair, he nodded politely. "Ladies, I believe you're here for the training session, am I correct?"

Tiffany bowed politely and set Phascomon down in front of her. He yawned and stretched.

"Y-yes sir...we...thought it would be a good idea given how things are lately." She mumbled intimidated by the robot gorilla.

"Yeah...yea..." Sandy started out sounding hostile but humbled herself in front of the large hero. She felt the instinctive urge to turn to stone but swallowed it down. He had kind eyes, something she hadn't seen till she came here.

"We wanna learn how to kick butt, take names and chew bubblegum!" Gotsumon supplied misquoting a western he'd seen once.

Optimus laughed lightly as he gestured for them to sit down. "First of all, I'd like to know your strengths and abilities, so we can proceed with the lessons at hand. Not everything hinges on combat right off the bat."

"W-well..." Tiffany began taking a seat as dainty and ladylike as she could, "I'm a witch in training...I'm studying healing and shield spells currently though I've got a few other small spells...cantrips a-and such...a..and I have a Pactio Card." She mumbled looking away shyly.

"She's also a superb flier on her broom and despite her dislike of it fire spells seem to come naturally to her, however she is easy to frighten, has very low self esteem despite her numerous successes and get's flustered easily. On the other side of the paw she is creative." Phascomon listed analytically. He had been watching her mature after all.

"Oh yeah? Well Sandy can run really, really fast AND oh oh Sandy! Show em that thing you do!" Gottsumon cheered thinking this was a competition.

Sandy grumbled and allowed her body to change to solid stone. "I've got a Pactio too." She added quietly her cold sharp eyes focused on the floor as if her powers were shameful.

"I see. We can work along with that," mused Optimus. "The first thing you two need is working together while one of you are at a disadvantage. I'm going to go with an old standby."

Reaching into a bag at his feet, he pulled out two silk scarves and held them out. "Tie your right and left feet together into a three-legged person and then tie the larger one around your arms. This will promote teamwork and coordination."

Tiffany accepted the scarves nervously looking to Sandy. Not her first choice of people to be tied to...in fact she probably didn't rank in the top five.

Phascomon smiled, he liked this idea. It had taken this long for Tiffany to ask for training outside of M.A.G.I...and this ape seemed to know what he was doing.

"W-we can do that..." Tiffany stated softly more to tell herself then anyone else. She began to tie their legs together.

Sandy opened her mouth to say something scathing but then closed it closing her eyes and taking a few breathes to calm herself. This was the idea. Sure she didn't want to train with Tiffany and she was almost positive Tiffany felt the same way...but they had a common interest and like the old saying goes, keep your enemies close...and rivals in love closer. It took some doing but she helped Tiffany tie the scarf around their arms and then stood up, a bit too fast and making Tiffany wobble.

Optimus nodded. "Good. You see, the scarves represent bonds, and comrades in arms. Now these on the other hand..."

Optimus reached into the pack and pulled out two large weights in the shape of a Chinese coin. He tied one to Tiffany's free hand. "This represents discipline."

He then tied the other to Sandy's free hand. "THIS represents strength. You'll need to learn to harmonize all three of these aspects in order to learn and pass the first test."

Tiffany was about to giggle having seen a movie where something like this had happened to a young warrior woman...but the weight of the coin pulled on her arm and made her squeek instead. That hurt! The coins were as heavy as they looked and she held onto hers weakly wincing slightly.

"This should be good." Phascomon muttered to Gottsumon.

Sandy grunted but held her coin easier then Tiffany's. When it came down to physical strength she had the blue eyed girl beat hands down. Despite knowing this task was supposed to bring them together she couldn't help but feel like it was almost a challenge in itself. Like saying "I bet I can teamwork better then you can."

She didn't say that naturally just smirked.

"Aww I wanted to play too." Gottsumon mumbled.

"You'll both need to work together," informed Optimus as he sat down. "I'll be monitoring your progress from here. First thing first is stamina. In which you'll have to outrun him."

That was when Gorimon appeared over the hill, beating his chest and screaming "I AM THE LAWBRINGER!"

"I would suggest running now," stated Optimus with a little grin.

Tiffany's eyes went wide and she squeeked feeling herself freeze up tight.

This apparently was not a problem for Sandy however as the girl instinctively took off half dragging Tiffany and the coin with her.

"S-sandy!!!" Tiffany cried stumbling and scrambling to keep standing, her leg slipped and send the duo crashing painfully to the ground a few feet away.
