"And that's why we need to do this, even though you can go all the way up to Adult," Konata was saying as she walked up to the makeshift training area.
"... what's the 0.2 for?" Vi-Elecmon was, of course, padding alongside her tamer.
"For leeching EXP off of that duck battle." Konata paused and scratched at her cheek. "... though it might not count since he ran away and all," she added with an easy shrug. "Maybe it was a scripted battle...?"
Vi rolled her eyes and let it go. The digimon been with Konata long enough to pick up on her moods- and the high school girl was, beneath her usual lackadaisical facade, pretty darned nervous. That last battle HAD shaken them both up, after all...

Jarrod looked up from where he was tabbing on a fairly large looking panel that was floating in front of him. "OI!" he called out, waving a clawed hand at Konata. "You coming for the training session?"

- only to be stopped by Vi-Elecmon standing in front of her. "Konata! His arms!!" the Digimon hissed, pointing at Jarrod's protruding bones.
"Hmm?" Konata glanced over at Jarrod and blinked as a few mental gears finally clicked together. She snapped her fingers as a stray memory came to her. "Oh, you're... that undead sorcerer, right?"
"You could at least ACT a little more surprised," Vi deadpanned.
"I guess..." Konata stroked her chin for a moment before smiling her usual fox-like grin. "... man, seeing a zombie in the flesh is really something else, isn't it?"
"... oi."

"A really BAD one," smirked Laz and Jarrod snorted.
"In any case, looking for some training kiddo?" he inquired as he tapped the panel beside him casually.
"Hey Master, you just took the wrong talent," pointed out Laz.
Jarrod's head whipped around in shock and then he relaxed. "Arthas take your bony ass Laz, don't scare me! Geez, get so used to not being able to undo this crap..."

With an effort, she focused back on the matter at hand, and nodded in response to Jarrod's question. "... I need to get stronger." Konata's face was, for once, completely serious. "If I'm going to help-"
She paused as she was cut off by Jarrod's exclamation. And then she stared at the warlock's status screen. "... um, I've been meaning to ask, but..." Konata hesitated before lifting a finger to point at the floating panel. "... what's that?"
Reply
"Or be from Azeroth for that matter," added Laz with a smirk.
"Yeah that too. Hmm..." Jarrod pointed at Konata and then scowled. "Nope, you're too low level, it's still blocked off. Though I could bring up your equip screen... Inspect!"
In a muted blip of light and a sound like something metallic clattering into place, a screen appeared with Konata standing in the middle of the image, her equipment slots filled with starter white items and her attributes at the bottom. "Level 1 still? Only five bubbles in. Geez."

And then she yelped as her very own screen popped up. "NNWHA!!" Her eyes as wide as saucers, Konata flailed her arms. "What- how'd you- isn't that- stop undressing me with your eyes!!"
"THAT'S what you're worried about!?" Vi snapped back, facepalming.

"Master can't do a thing, that's just the Inspect ability we all have back home," explained Laz in a placating voice, or as much as a screechy imp could state. "It just displays our abilities, statuses, achievement points, etcetra."
"Yeah." agreed Jarrod. "Man, this armor is weak. Oh right, regular clothing. What you COULD do is bring up your own character sheet with the command Ctrl-C just so you can see what kind of stats you have and gear."

Inspect, ability, statuses, achievements... well, okay, that made sense. Konata nodded- thankfully, she actually KNEW most of the terms that Jarrod's throwing around, otherwise the explanations would had to have been much longer. "Ctrl-C, right? Okay..."
Konata's left hand came up reflexively, her pinky holding down an invisible keyboard key while her index finger... hovered over the spot where the 'C' would be. She sweatdropped and looked back up at Jarrod. "... is this where you're supposed to tell me about how to access the keyboard of the soul?" Konata asked brightly.

Jarrod's hands lit up as he commanded, "Ctrl-C!" and in an instant, his own character sheet appeared. "I haven't really changed my gear in a while, so they're still Outlands crap." he explained as a nameplate appeared over his head.
[Jarrod Jenkins - I Crit Your Mom]
[Level 73 - Warlock]
"And that, is the handy dandy nameplate," he said. "Jenkins isn't my last name, it's a title."

Konata trailed off as Jarrod completed his Summon Character Screen spell. "Outlands crap? Aah, moving on up to a new zone, right?" She crossed her arms and nodded in sympathy. "The feeling of being level capped and the rush that accompanies a level up... it's hard to let go of either of them, huh?"
"... what language are you even speaking now?" Vi-Elecmon was lying down, having more or less given up on following the conversation at this point.
Konata ignored her partner, her gaze traveling up to Jarrod's hovering nameplate. "I see," she replied, without really understanding it herself. "... I think arcane magic might be a bit beyond m- wait, level 73!?"
Reply
"Level cap is 80," replied Laz. "Though there's people like Tirion Fordring and the Lich King who are Level ??"
"Yeah, and one of them is good, one's evil." Jarrod steered the conversation away from Arthas quickly before he added, "Arcane magic is like drawing natural magic. First of all, you need to do a whole block of study, natural magic theory blah blah blah --" Jarrod's hand lit up with magic as he held it out, "Or you could touch this and get a small boost. Use it like you would say a ruler."

She blinked at the glowing orb that suddenly appeared in the warlock's hand. "Wait, it's that easy?" And a stray memory sparked into existence. The Dark Side is easier to master, but at the cost of everything else the wielder holds dear to them. Beware the easy path! Do not let temptation take you in! Do not-
"Well, all that doesn't really matter if it's Rare Candy~" Konata said happily, reaching out for the magic.
Vi-Elecmon looked between Konata and Jarrod. ... should I be worried that this conversation's lessening her grip on reality? she thought.

"What you do, is command Ctrl-N to bring up the talents."
