Not asking about where Marino got her BITS is a good thing, because the reploid woman would've answered completely truthfully how she got it.

And then there was Blackarachina's question. Which Marino mulled over as she took a sip of her drink.

"Well for one, I'm not organic. And two, it's fun to go shopping."

"That, and I found so many nice things for our companions on the ship!" exclaimed Nia, as she lifted up her bag. "Look what I found in Neon City!"

She took out... what looked like a baby's pajamas, except it was designed to fit someone who was round.

"It's so cute and distinguished! The salesman told me that it is pajamas for a Koromon, but the shape reminded me of someone else! Do you believe that Sir Meta Knight will like it?"

Marino couldn't help but chuckle at what Nia is holding up.

"I'm sure he will, Nia." she said while smiling. "It's a very thoughtful gift after all."

Nia smiled brightly as she put the item away. "I am so glad that you both find it to be an excellent gift!" replied Nia. "As for the others... I bought dear Arin a book of seafood recipes, a pair of flight goggles for sir pilot, and..."

Nia began to trail off, listing the items she had purchased for the various crewmembers.

"... Though I still do not understand why you recommended this collar with a bell on it for Viral, Marino."

She just laughed, not answering either woman at first for a few minutes before she calmed down.

Blackarachnia just stared for a moment, before scoffing.

"Organic mating rituals," she said, shaking her head. "... Or... those close to them. You're not an organic. Right."

"Scoff all you want," Marino said, grinning as usual. "But it's fun. And you should, Nia. I bet he'd love it!"

After her own moment, she gave Blackarachnia a once over before speaking again. "Anyways, how do you giant robots go about it, hm?"

As Nia and Marino both looked expectantly at her, Blackarachnia... felt as though she were put oddly on the spot.

Well, that was true. She was very put off.

"Um. Well..."

She "cleared her throat."

"... We don't. Genders originally developed as a differentiation between different kinds of protoforms. 'Male' Cybertronian programming tends to... incline them towards female-type protoforms, and vice versa. Most of the time. But we don't 'mate.' Protoforms come about a different way."

Marino listened to Blackarachnia,as she absently started to drum her finger on the tabletop now.

"So, not that different from reploids. We're built, not born." Still drumming her fingers. "Although in our case gender is given via programming instead of development, which is a bonus for your people I think."

"... Isn't there someone special you talk about sometimes?" Nia replied, after recalling an earlier conversation. "What's his name?"

Blackarachnia just... froze.

And Marino now had an elbow on the table so she can prop her chin in her hand as she looks at Blackarachnia.

"School girl crush," She sighed. "If she doesn't want to talk about it then it must not mean much."
