With Osamu safely out of the way and the laptop's passwords in his possession, Hagurumon was free to entertain himself with his partner's secret projects. He had learned the material quickly and slipping away late at nights was surprisingly easy, all things considered. He'd managed to calculate when visitors came by, how long they stayed, and when the best times were to escape to more interesting pursuits.
The specimens were coming along very well.
Satisfied with the progress of Osamu's little friends, whose care he had overtaken in pursuit of fulfilling his own desires, Hagurumon floated along the corridor. He would need live human tissue samples to test their virulence, but for now he must wait. Such samples were not easy to come by when one's partner insisted on being a non-combatant.
So pleased with himself was he that he hadn't noticed the time. By the time he got to Osamu's room and readied himself to pretend to be the caring, concerned partner he certainly wasn't, he was rather taken aback to see Akiyama sitting at the bedside. His eyes narrowed at this and he slipped quietly behind the human. No need to bring attention to himself, after all.
