The Joker narrowed his eyes a bit as he saw his partner's attacks doing absolutely nothing... but, smiled again as he noticed Hirokazu's condition worsening.

"My, my... having fun trying to be a hero?" Joker said, leaning on his partner as it landed. "Oh, sure, how fun would that be to bring me in and be just as great as the Batman, buuuuut..."

He stopped and pointed at Hirokazu.

"Give him a few minutes more and I'll gladly add him to my kill tally here. So, what's it gonna be, hm? Stop the villain?" Matadormon pushed off and fired another barrage of Thousand Arrows. "Or save your card-playing boyfriend? Either which way, I still win..."

Arms shaking, Juri shut her eyes tight. "...What kind of a choice is that?" Then she turned to Panjamon, who was still firing off a Cold Breath attack to hopefully freeze the incoming arrows.

"Panjamon, we have to-!"

The ice lion paused in his defense, running over to Juri and Hirokazu and putting a hand on the boy's head - as best he could. "Don't worry. Got a plan! FULL HEAL!"

Juri...didn't know he had that kind of attack.

Guardromon fired off more Destruction Grenades, hoping to hold off the remainders as he had done before.

As for Hirokazu... once Panjyamon's technique took effect, he gradually began to stop laughing, and then collapsed to the ground, coughing.

The Joker's eyes went wide as he saw the effects disappear thanks to that Digimon.

"NO! That's not fair! You CHEATED!" Joker snapped. "MATADORMON, SKEWER THEM!"

"Eee-heeheeheeheeheehee! Of course!" Matadormon cackled, racing forward as his attacks were struck down.

Juri nearly collapsed as well - with relief. Instead, she just knelt by Hirokazu's side, putting her hands on his back and rubbing carefully.

Panjamon looked on for a moment with a small smile - before turning to Matadormon with a sour glare. "Oh, shut the hell up. Hyoujuuken - ICE BEAST FIST!!"

As Hirokazu lay there, clinging to Juri, Guardromon focused all of his attention on Matadormon. The blasters on his shoulders let out a whine as they powered up, and he released two beams of light, shouting "WARNING LASER!"

As Matadormon charged at the two, he came to a stop, the Ice Beast Fist slamming into him, freezing a good part of his body as the Warning Laser struck as well.

As Matadormon struggled to get free, the Joker facepalmed at the situation. "Of all the people...!"

Panjamon took a look at Juri and Hirokazu - and then cracked his knuckles, walking towards Matadormon and the Joker. "So...do I have to make myself any clearer?" He had a Beast King Fist charged - just in case he got the wrong answer.

Joker snarled as Matadormon finally freed himself from his icy holdings. These kids were driving him nuts... as if he wasn't already. Before he could command Matadormon to skewer the lion man, he heard something that caught his attention: sirens.

"Whu-oh! Looks like the police are coming!" Joker said.

"We can get 'em! Stabby, stabby!" Matadormon said.

"No! Our fun's ended, but not for these two...!" Joker said. "C'mon, boy, let's get out of here!" As the bladed Digimon picked up his Tamer, the clown pulled out a small device. As the Matadormon leaped into the air, the Joker triggered the device, the two disappearing in a burst of light.

The Joker would have to thank Kurata for the Time/Space Jumper he swiped.

Panjamon lowered his fist slowly, as if making sure they really weren't coming back.

And Juri, meanwhile, pulled away from Hirokazu slightly, only to check how he was doing. "Hirokazu? Can you hear me?" He was very much awake, but she didn't know just what side-effects that gas could have...

Hirokazu just coughed again. He was awake, but still delirious from the experience.

Guardromon walked over, and picked Hirokazu up gently. "C-come," he said. "We must get him to the hospital... he could still be sick from that strange gas..."

Juri could only nod. Again she'd failed to protect someone important to her...

A hand on her shoulder signaled Panjamon had come up behind her. "...Come on, Juri. Let's get going."

He pushed her along a little, and she started walking. She'd be okay...they'd both be okay.
