Rose couldn't help but grin at Kira's remark. "Did you end up doing the same to Ben to get him downstairs?"

How exactly had she known about Kira's locked threat to Ben? It's probably best not to ask.

Kira shared Rose's grin as she plunked Gwen into a chair, the girl headdesking before Kira straightened Gwen out, miserable expression and all. "I had to morph to drag him down the stairs, so he was somewhat willing."

"You on the other hand need to cheer up."

"mmph" was all Gwen could get out as she slumped over a little, Kira catching her before she could hit her head on the table.

Rose's expression softened as she looked at Gwen. While she didn't know exactly what was going on with her, she could sympathize with the numbing pain.

"Hey," she said softly. "Whatever happened, you're not going to go through it alone. I got that lesson beat into me almost a year ago, and I keep getting hit with it."
