Some distance away from the main crew, Meta Knight was waiting with several other members of the Halberd's crew. Their job was to rush in if the search team called in for back up.

"Stay sharp, all of you," muttered Meta Knight. "Just because we're not rushing into anything right away doesn't mean we should allow ourselves to be caught unawares."

"Hey, don't act like we're amateurs, man," Bakunetsumaru said, mildly irritated. "I'll have you know I've done this sort of thing dozens of times! You've seen one Dark Army, you've seen 'em all."

Kendomaru the Kotemon sighed, smacking the front of his helmet with a hand. "Why must you taunt people that wield sharp objects? Honestly."

Back into the cold wastes of Meria for Kouji and Hagurumon, though this time they were more prepared for the cold weather... probably because they were psyched and ready to head out on a moments notice.

"Eh, I've been in worse, bird!" Kouji said to Falco's Falcomon. "Wait until you've been inside a volcano!"

"Now that's some hot stuff!" Hagurumon said.

Kittan stood off to the side, shivering. He wasn't dressed as warmly as he should have been, so he could move around easier if they were attacked. Gotsumon stood beside him, huddled close to Kittan but not close enough to touch him. He didn't like being in the snow.

"Pikachupikapika," Pikachu remarked to Falcomon, the comment roughly translating to the electric rodent calling the Digimon a wimp. Both Pikachu and Renamon had their ears perked up, listening carefully for any sounds that were out of the ordinary.

Boota was perched on Patamon's head. The digimon was fluttering his wings to stay airborne.

Wrapped up in several jackets (Yggdrasil only knew where she got them), Nami held a flailing Plotmon (similarly bundled up) in her arms.

"I don't know why she's so keen to fight all of a sudden," Nami complained, while eying Kittan's shivering with concern, "she's usually so responsible!"

Alas for Plotmon: Many of the crew were a bad strong influence.

Kendomaru had spoken up.

"Do you hear that?"

Bakunetsumaru scratched his head. Don't try to think too hard about what this accomplished. "I dunno, this wind's awfully loud..."

He then happened to crane his neck upwards.

"..." Bakunetsumaru stated.

"..." Kendomaru, his gaze following his Tamer's, eloquently replied.

"INCOMING!" they both then suddenly cried, while Baku jabbed wildly on his D-Reader until his Protect barrier popped up around him and Kendomaru - narrowly in time.

Meta Knight instantly lept into action. He spread his cape out into its wing formation and lept upwards, flying amidst the blades and blades of ice, slashing his sword wildly to cut at them and smack them out of the air.

Halbered - the digimon - lept forward and, from the ground, used his Pawn Buckler to form a shield that managed to block even more of them... but even this would likely not be enough to account for the rain of spears.

Kouji heard Bakunetsumaru and Kendomaru's cries and quickly went for both his D-Comm and the gun he hand holstered in his flight suit. Bringing up the Protect function as well, he took some shots at the blades of ice, letting the rest bounce off the Protect barrier.

"Hagurumon, go and--" Kouji began before noticing his partner already taking to the sky as Mechanorimon.

"Say no more! TWINKLE BEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!" the mechanical Digimon shouted, letting loose an energy blast as he hovered over Nami

Kittan leapt out of the way of the projectiles, bringing up the Protect function of his D-Comm at the same time, "The hell?! Come on, Gotsumon, let's show 'em what we're made of!"

A bright flash of green light and Starmon was standing beside Kittan, "I would if I could find 'em!"

Pikachu and Renamon moved, using the innate agility of their respective species dodge the projectiles.

"PiKAAAAAA!" shouted the mouse, tiny paws clenched around a rapidly firing Super Scope as his D-Comm began to glow.

"Renamon evolve to...KYUUBIMON! DEMON FIREBALL!" his partner cried out, sending the fiery spheres at the the shards.

Patamon flailed, fluttering madly to try to dodge all the incoming projectiles. Boota was clinging to the digimon's head, squealing, fur standing on end.
