On some level, Ikuto knew fully well that what he was doing was stupid. But he also knew that Kurata, a mad man who had already taken a great deal from his family, was on the loose again.
And up till now... he hadn't done nearly enough to stop him.
Yoshino had been taken and had lost so much already, and when the time came to stop Kurata? What had he done? He had remained back at the Royal Base. Now, he knew that this was the right decision... Chika and the others had needed him during all that after all - Chika especially, since she'd been hurt so badly. But that was then. This was now.
If there was something he and Falcomon could do, he would make sure that it would be done. For the sake of Mercurimon, Yukidarumon... and what had been done to his friends.
First they'd managed to find where the battle between Sayu, Manami, and Kurata had taken place. One of Falcomon's skills was tracking, and there was no visible trail for Kurata leading away from the scene. That meant he'd warped away from the location. There was, however, one for a digimon that they were sure had to be Kurata's partner.
It was a long shot, but... it gave Ikuto some hope that at least one of their enemies was still in Neon City. And if Kurata didn't want to be far away from the one digimon that would likely want to associate with him... then he could still be in the city too.
"Are you sure about this, Ikuto?" asked Falcomon, for the millionth time. "The investigation team is more qualified to be doing some like this..."
Ikuto frowned, as he and Falcomon jumped from one rooftop to another. Upon landing, he looked over at the ninja bird and frowned. "Then they'll find exactly what we found," he said. "Just as long as we're doing something Falcomon..."
Falcomon sighed. "... Ikuto. You didn't bear this problem on your shoulders the last time. So why now?"
Ikuto just continued onward. "... It's because I didn't do what it took to stop him last time... It was because of him... because of him that Yoshino became a Bio Hybrid and Chika got hurt. Because of him, Hououmon and Mercurimon are dead. So I'm going to do whatever I can now, before he has the chance again...!"
