Who: Adelle and Pinamon, Van
What: Camping out...and plotting.
When: June 29, 2008, sunset
Where: Goc Desert

Ten days. It'd been ten days since Adelle had been taken by Van and she was starting lose hope that she'd find a way out. At least, she figured, she wasn't in the Putrid Ruins or another cave anymore. They'd come to Goc Desert the night before, much to her delight, and she was sleeping in a tent. Van slept in a different one, but Bearmon was outside the entire time, keeping watch. Because he needed his rest too, Adelle doubted they'd be there long, but it was a nice change from the dank, dreary places they'd taken up residence in.

What she really wanted right now...was Pinamon. The poor little guy looked so weak the last time she'd seen him, and leaving him with Bearmon wasn't what she wanted to do, but...making a fuss wasn't what she wanted right now... She lay her head on her knees, shutting her eyes and trying once again to focus on escape.

"M-miss Adelle?"

Adelle's head shot up and she looked to the tent's opening to see Pinamon, somehow looking smaller than ever, in Van's arms. "P-Pinamon...?" She pushed herself up and asked Van immediately, "What're you doing with him? He hasn't made any trouble!"

Van didn't say anything. Instead, he walked forward and handed the small bird Digimon to Adelle. With that, he walked back out. Adelle didn't have much time to be surprised, because Pinamon's soft feathers reminded her that he was in her arms for the first time in over a week.

"P-Pinamon!" She slid down into a sitting position and hugged him close, tears filling her eyes. "H-how? Why did he let you-?"

Pinamon shook his head - which, honestly, was most of his body - and snuggled into her. "I-I-I don't..." He shuddered against her body and she quickly shushed him.

"Hold on. Don't talk." Adelle looked for something - anything - that could help him, but she'd finished her dinner and all she had was her D-Reaper and -

Her D-Reader! Of course! How could she have been so stupid?! She pulled her arm up and began scrolling through items - some of which she'd have to remember for later - until she got to food. Not much, but it'd have to do. She materialized the Bone Meat and adjusted Pinamon in her arms.

"Pinamon?" He opened his eyes in response. "Can you chew for me?" He nodded slowly, opening his mouth. She tore up the meat, hand-feeding him one bit at a time.

The D-Reader could prove to be her greatest asset, especially since Van had given her back Pinamon. She'd just found her hope again.
