Chika rushed outside into the courtyard, seeing that Ikuto had gone to pick up his boomerang. She stopped, caught her breath. She'd run all the way here.
She wanted desperately to help Ikuto in anyway she could, especially with a situation like this that obviously hurt him. She began walking again, slowly toward him.
"Ikuto-kun!" Chika called out, putting on a smile, hoping that in some way, her smile could make him feel better.
Chika returned the hug as he gave it, holding onto him tightly and rubbing his back. She buried her face in his neck. She didn't say anything; even if she had anything to say, she wouldn't know quite how to say it.
Chika blinked, tilted her head to the side slightly, then took his hands, leading them both to a good place to sit. She sat, still holding his hands, and beckoned for him to sit down as well.
"Go on," She urged softly, "I'll listen." And she smiled gently up at him.
"He was supposed to be our friend. He worked with Mercurimon too. But then, he tried to kill me, because I was really a human. He told me I could never go back to the Digital World, and that... and then he brought an army that caused so much destruction..."
He teared up. "The others destroyed him, but... he came back without any memories, and... and now... He never had to pay for what he did!"
Chika listened, then moved next to him and wrapped her arms around him gently. "I think he did, Ikuto-kun," she said softly, resting her head on his shoulder.
"He doesn't even remember what he did. If he came back and actually remembered, then I'd say he never had to pay for his actions. But right now, without his memories .." She paused.
"I know it hurts, Ikuto-kun ..." She didn't know what to think, and though she did have something to say, she ... didn't know how to say it.
"But I never got to stand up to him! He said and did all of those horrible things, and Masaru defeated him! I never got to prove my worth! I never got..."

She'd try as best as she could to help him.

Stopping what he was doing, he ran over to her as fast as he could. Once he reached her, he didn't stay anything, but quickly grabbed her into a hug.

"Gotsumon, he..." he said, looking down. "You weren't there, but he..."

He paled.
"...Revenge...

"Ikuto-kun ... revenge isn't always the best way to go about doing things ..." Her voice lowered to a whisper.
"Besides ... I wouldn't want to see you hurt ..."

"I'm... I'm going to have to forget all about this, aren't I? Just... leave him be..."

"Mhm .." She answered, trying her best not to let him know she was crying, too.
She didn't want to cry. Not when he was so upset. Even so, seeing him as upset as he was upset her just as much ...
Well, that, and she'd had her own things to think and cry about lately as well. She wasn't going to tell him about that, though. She couldn't.

He hugged Chika tightly. "Thank you, Chika... can you... can you stay with me...?"

I need to stop crying .. she thought to herself, but it didn't help. In fact, it only made it worse.

She had comforted him. He could do no less.
