As my shitty Spring Break comes to a close -- if you can even call it a break with all the stuff I had to do -- I figured that I should enlighten all y'all to the most beautiful, inspiring show I have EVER seen in my life! Ready . . . GO!
I saw "Slava's Snowshow" on Thursday night with Peter and Jess . . . and it was the BEST show EVER! It's off-Broadway . . . in Union Square actually. It's a clown show (like the hobo clowns) -- much like the clowns from "Cirque Du Soleil". They are from Russia . . . and they put on the most inspiring, beautiful show I have seen in a LONG time.
It was heart-warming at times. It was heart-wrenching at times. But it was totally endearing. It was mostly spectacle -- but it was fantastic. The highlight comes at the end of the show when there is a HUGE blizzard in the theatre -- which was AWESOME! Then, after the show is over, you can stay as LONG as you want to play in the snow and play with all of the clowns. It brings you back to when you were a little kid and didn't have a care in the world. Amazing!
Here is the website for anyone who is interested:
http://www.snowshowusa.com Seriously though . . . if anyone has the chance to go see this show . . . you won't be disappointed. I'm going to go see it again after graduation with my family. It was just so refreshing to see something that isn't typical "Broadway". I still have dreams about the show and night, and I can't help but smile.
It was TOTALLY the highlight of my Spring Break. Hopefully . . . if all works out the way I want it to -- I'll be going to DC to visit my sister during Easter Break -- but everything depends on rehearsals for "The Music Man" -- so hopefully I'll be able to consider Easter Break more of a break than Spring Break.
And now . . . as the Beatles so eloquently put it "it's been a hard day's night and I've been working like a dog!" And yet . . . I still have work to get done (like my work-out for today, a 10 minute one-act to write, a review and a 10 page paper to finish . . . ). Seems like the work never ends. But only 2 months left until graduation. GRADUATION OR BUST BABY!
