Ok. Ok. I know. I SUCK at life -- mucho MUCHO! But I've warned everyone that I am NO good at updates. I get preoccupied with homework, or life, or shiny things . . . but since I have a litle time now, I suppose I should update y'all (or myself). Considering it's been OVER a month since my last update . . . be warned -- this MAY take a while.
*Spring Break: Spring break was a bust. It pretty much sucked. The weather was cold and rainy and snowy -- not to mention that they decided that we didn't need to eat -- so I had to go out and buy my own food (with money that I don't have). I spent a lot of time working on homework that I needed to get done -- but that was a drag. Luckily, I got a break towards the end of Spring break. Peter, Jess and I went into the city to get dinner and to see a show. We found one of the 13 Chipotle restaurants -- which made me MUCHO happy. I always go through withdrawl when I'm not able to eat my beloved Chipotle. And then we saw the most AMAZING show I have ever seen -- "Slava's Snowshow". It was SOOOOO beautiful! It was a lot like "Cirque Du Soleil" -- but it was only a clown act. It was awesome! At the end of the show, there is a HUGE blizzard -- I swear . . . everyone in the audience reverts back to 3 years old. It was SUCH a blast! Everyone who can should take the time to see the show. It's TOTALLY worth it.
*Easter Break: I thought that I was going to have a REALLY crappy Easter break -- since I thought that I was going to get stuck at Wagner again -- but then my roomie came to the rescue. She called me up and asked what I was going to be doing. Originally, I was going to be going down to D.C. to visit my sister, but plans fell through due to "The Music Man" rehearsals. But then, we had rehearsals cancelled, which made me mad. So Lorelei called me, and asked if I was going to D.C., and I told her no. And she said that it was stupid for me to be stuck at te Wag again . . . so she came up with a brilliant plan. She was going to pick up her brother Tim from school and bring him back. And so she decided that she would just drive down to the city to get me. We'd drive all night back upstate to get Tim, and then head to her house. Believe me -- it was a WONDEFUL break. It was SOOOOO nice to get of campus and spend time with my wonderful roomie and her family. The break wasn't long enough though -- I wished it could have been longer.
*"The Music Man": The show was an AMAZING success. We got RAVE reviews in the paper which was MUCHO cool. A lot of people around campus were -- I don't want to say "bad-mouthing" the show -- but for lack of a better word . . . before we opened, but after they saw the show, they changed their tune. Everyone really liked the show. Sure, it had it's not so great moments (like costumes and sets) but over all, it was FINALLY a 4th slot show that REALLY worked. I had SUCH a blast working on it. The cast was amazing, and we were all really close. Norb, our director, is amazing to work with. I've worked with him on all of the mainstage shows I've been in, and he never ceases to amaze me. He told all of us in the cast to keep our eyes out for any auditions he has in the city, because he wants to work with us again. He's actually working on the national tour of "The Music Man" -- so our show was basically the show that will be on tour. Thank you to everyone who came out to see it -- and for those of you who missed it . . . well, it sucks to be you. I was sad to see it end -- considering the fact that its my last show at Wagner College . . . but I was also glad to see it end . . . since now I should have more time to get everything done that I need to get done. I'll be getting a DVD of the show, as well as DVDs from "Pirates of Penzance" and "Titanic".
*Auditions: I have a BUNCH of auditions lined up. I was actually cast in "Beauty and the Beast" in Massachussets in August -- but I haven't accepted it yet. I want to keep my options open. I'm auditioning for the national tour of "Cats" on Wednesday (the 27th) which I am really excited for. It's with Troika Entertainment -- which is a non-equity touring company. They are having a call for singers, so I figured "what te hell". I'll give it a shot. And then in May, I'm auditioning for a show in Disneyland. It's a new "Snow White" show -- and I'm auditioning for the Queen. I think that show would be a blast as well. But we'll see. I may end up taking "Beauty and the Beast" -- but I may have to do some negotiations. If not -- I think I'll just go home to Colorado and see what I want to do there. But everyone keep your fingers crossed for me and send my good vibes.
*D.C.: As I'm typing . . . I am sitting in my sister's apartment in Washington D.C.! YAY! I actually found time to get down here. I left on Friday morning and I leave tomorrow afternoon. Again, I NEEDED to get off campus -- so it's been nice to take this long weekend. Granted . . . my sister is trying to cram ALL of the district into these 4 days, and we're doing a LOT of walking and running around (an the weather hasn't really been on our side -- it's been chilly and cloudy), but I am having a LOT of fun. My grandma and granddad are here as well, and it's been nice to see them as well. We went to the Spy Museam, a BUNCH of the monuments, the White Housewe went on a lunch cruise on the Potomac today, and we're going on a tour of the Capitol tomorrow. I've been taking a lot of pictures -- I'll probably post some of them on here when I get back to New York. Not to mention ALL the AMAZING food I've had while I've been here. We had the BEST Mexican food the other day at Rosa Mexicano -- where they made fresh made guacamole at your table right in front of you. And then last night, we ate at this Italian restaurant called Maggianos which was awesome. The portions were HUGE and everything was delicious. Then, we went to this bookstore for desert, where we all shared a banana split, apple pie, and cinnamon ice cream. I swear . . . I feel like I'm going to go back to Wagner weighing a million pounds. I won't have to eat again ANY time soon.
*School: I am SOOOOO over school! I can't WAIT to graduate (less than a month now -- Hooray!) Classes are stupid, and I have NO desire to DO anything. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. I am amazed at the amount of work I have -- being a second semester senior and already having my thesis done and over with. I swear . . . the professors are conspiring against me -- trying to make sure that I have MUCHO work to get done and NOT enough time to finish it all. I won't update on all the mundane, stupid crap going on at school. It doesn't matter. And besides . . . I'm sure I've already complained to most of the people who read this anyway. If you REALLY want to know . . . ask. But, I'm warning you -- you'll be opening a can of worms.
*Graduation: Basically, my ENTIRE family is coming for graduation. I am SOOOOO excited! We're all going to see "Slava's Snowshow" together on the Thursday before graduation. And then my Mom, sister, Lorelei and I are going to see "Avenue Q" on Saturday night after graduation, while my dad, step-mom, brother, step-brother and aunt go to see "Wicked". We were all supposed to see "Dame Edna" in the FRONT row, but the show is closing early. My step-sister was supposed to come, but her grades in school are not too good, and she's in a LOT of trouble, so she has to stay home. It sucks that she isn't able to come, but I'll have fun with my aunt. She's crazy. I still can't belive that my 4 years of college are coming to an end. I can't wait -- but it's also scary. I mean -- HERE COMES THE REAL WORLD! AHHHHHHH!!!
Wow. I KNOW that there is stuff that I am leaving out . . . but I don't want to write anymore. I think that this update is long enough as it is. But it was about damn time it happened. Now that everyone is caught up . . . I guess I'll end this rambling. I don't promise ANY updates any time soon -- at least I'm not saying that I WILL update. I MAY update again. I dunno. Who knows? I hope life is treating everyone well. That is all. Byeeeeeeeeeee!!!
