I did a bit of photoshop work this morning, based on something that popped up in my art director inbox. I'm still waiting for an artist to finish reviewing a contract. I got email from a couple of other artists, but I didn't see anything I could use. I'll probably spend some time tomorrow morning checking out some more portfolios online. Before I went to the library for some study time, I tried googling for production art from the animated Star Trek series. My google-fu must be off, because I couldn't find anything. I may be able to ask for help on facebook, but I followed up that search for production photos from the live action series and the jj abrams movie for pictures of Nichelle Nichols and Zoe Saldana in case I need to work from a photographic source instead. I'm still not seeing any new (to me) production sketches from Mark Henn's work on The Princess and the Frog, but I can't really justify buying the book right now. None of the libraries have it either. Argh! There are a couple of Wonder Woman art books that I'm also looking for at the library, but I may have to settle for a closer look at a couple of comic books. Adam Hughes and Alex Garner both have deviantArt accounts, so I've seen quite a bit of their work. They also get a few reblogs on tumblr.
I finally received the jury summons notice that's I've been expecting, and I'm scheduled for October 1st. I'm on the fence about whether or not I'll go to the library tomorrow. I may spend tomorrow doing stuff around the house and go back to the library on Monday morning. I definitely want to spend some time sending out more resumes, since it won't be open until 1pm. In the last couple of weeks only one company has responded to a receptionist/administrative assistant application, and that was just a rejection.
Drawing time this evening seems to be going well. I'm definitely starting to feel like the time I put in working on facial features is starting to pay off. Which means I need to go back to working on my proportion issues when working on torsos and limbs. I wonder what will happen when I need to address color? :P
