I've spent this week working out of the central library branch in Brooklyn, because it's been crazy hot and humid. I might be able to work from home today, if weather.com is accurate. I found a bunch of job ads, so that's what I spent yesterday doing. One particularly difficult web site made it almost impossible but after I switched to a different computer and tried a few more times, it finally went through. I have to wonder how much time and money some companies spend on the UI/UX/back end of their "careers" applications. It doesn't normally take 10+ hours to complete a job application. Most of that was filling out the same information again and again trying to get the submit button to work. :P
I have two more email job applications waiting for me to review one last time before I send them off. This means I can use the coupon I have to go see Pacific Rim with a clear conscience! No word from the bank or the overseas job application I sent off last week. Hopefully, this week's effort will pay off with an interview request next week.
I have some ideas percolating, thanks to the time I spent in the library going through art reference books. I think I've reached the spreadsheet planning stage, where I start to brainstorm ideas.
I'm still stuck on the last drawing I started. I showed some slight improvement when I tried practicing with the ipad stylus, but trying to draw with it still feels like a bit of a train wreck.
