Mass Update!!
Im getting really bad with this.. Ever since Lauren commented that I keep it updated .. i havent been able to since! haha!
So break is almost over. I head back to school Jan 16th and I honestly cant wait! I really need the routine to keep me sane and from not sleeping away half my day! Pretty big semester coming up.. Baroque recital and my lecture recital (probably on Bizet and the Spanish Influence now.. or something like that).. then I have Vocal Ped and Choir rehearsal and vocal technique.. and Ill be auditioning for Opera Workshop once again.. this time I think im really ready.. but if i dont get in.. no loss.. i get a lot of stuff accomplished in my lessons anyways.. Ill also still have choir (boo).. then i have a couple summer programs to audition for.. still hoping to hear that someone backed out of Florence so that I can go.. im think that will probably happen in the spring if it does actually happen..
Christmas was good.. went up to NH to Doug's parents place. It was nice and I at least got to hang out with my sister and do shots of Pepe Lopez (Tequila). I came back to Ithaca for a day then headed up to Eva's for christmas.. She got me a really nice scrapbooking kit to put together a nice book of family stuff.. maybe ill start that with the rest of my break that I have left. She also bought me the Sacred songs Renee Flemind CD, and the new Cecilia Opera Prohibita CD.. both are ok. My sister rocked out and bought me a book I wanted and the new tori amos songbook.. ive already rocked through that a few times at school..
New years was spent up in Boston with Kristin Henne, Melissa Gluzband and Tracy Reich! we all met at Kristin's house thursday night. We then loaded up my SUV and headed off to Boston.. It took about 5 hours.. actually wasnt that bad driving around once we got the right map out. Our hotel was the Wyndham hotel, real nice, in the financial district and a few steps away from pretty much everything. Friday night we all went out bar hopping.. probably did 4 or 5 bars. The last bar was Mr. Dooleys and it was right next to our hotel. We were there till it closed at 2.. well Tracy and I were at least. It was a lot of fun.. good laughs.. live irish band.. and the bartender and I kept flirting all night.. hehehe
Saturday we tried to get up early.. Tracy couldnt make it.. was too sick to move.. so me, mel and Kristin headed off without her to the Aquarium. It was actually pretty cool even though i had a hang over still. I was super worried about the hang over when we decided to go to an IMAX movie about walking on the moon.. but I was ok.. thanks TOm Hanks..
after that we decided to follow the Freedom trail all the way to some monument.. i forget now.. but we ended up going past/and in Paul Revere's house.. so that was fun.. people were short back then.. and apparently didnt believe in celebrating birthdays according to the well informed tour guide..
Saturday night we all headed to this lobster house, and sat in the booth that JFK always requested.. Score!.. i had a really good seafood newburgh.. and the best clam chowder ever... and then the worst Irish coffee ever.. man was it strong!!damn whiskey!
We then headed back to the hotel and took mini naps, showers, and got changed. We had to walk around a bit to find a bar that wasnt charging crazy amounts.. we ended up at 'The Point' , and got in 4 for the price of 3 (at $30/person).. sucked.. but we had to go somewhere! It was ok.. kindda crowded.. but we drank.. and danced.. and some black guy was all about dancing with me .. Tracy and I ended up in a grind chain of like 8 people.. it was rough.. i just had to laugh at how rediculous it was.. oh well! it was fun!! We saw a girl with a tube top gettin with every guy in the bar.. and when she was dancing with the same black guy I was dancing with.. her tube top fell off... it was unfortunate.. Didnt get to meet up with Mary walker or Jason Luciana.. but I had an awesome time anyways!
Drove to Kristins on Sunday and was back in Ithaca by 8.
Last week and this week have so far been pretty chill. I came down with a cold.. probably the one Kristin had over new years.. mmy throat is still soar/irritated.. so im going to have to go into health services on monday. Ive been teaching lessons to Whitney (a previous student from my Moravia teaching days..).. she is getting ready for college auditions.. i think she'll be ok.. everything but the French piece is supposed to be memorized for tomorrow.
My sister and her bf Doug broke up.. Its a long story.. and IM not going to go into here.. needless to say.. im a little upset.. but she needs to make her own decisions. Im sad to see doug out of the picture.. he is like a brother to me.. and hopefully we can still be friends.. Mels out in SanFran right now with a friend..
And I had a DATE last night.. Ive been talking with this guy on Match.com, he's from Appalachain (near binghamton).. hes 23 (will be 24 in feb).. went to RIT for photo journalism.. but decided he didnt want to do that.. so is now working at a mens clothing store selling suits. at least he's well dressed. He's Italian, has great eyes and smile.. not too skinny.. taller than me.. and its really easy to talk to him. We have a lot of the same music tastes..and movie tastes.. I think we quoted Anchorman all night.. It was fun! We went to dinner at Mahogany Grille on the commons.. then went to see what was playing at the movies.. nothing good though.. so we came back to my place and hung out.. watched a movie.. made out a lot.. and talked a lot. at somepoint in the night he turns to me and says. "ya know what we are... were 2 peas in a pod"... It was cute! and im pretty happy about him! So we'll see where it goes! We have another date this coming Friday night.. he's coming up. We'll probably do a movie.. i dont know! The only problems are that he's 45 minutes away.. which actually is probably best.. then i wont be trying to spend all my time with him and will stay focused on school more... and second.. he lives at HOME with the parents.. boo.. so I wontbe spend much time down there probably.. but otherwise.. he's a super sweet guy!!
