counter baths

My cats used to have major sink fear, so over time I've gotten them over the fear by getting curious about the running tapwater. Lorenzo now loves to jump up there, and will stare at the tap until it turns on for him.

Now it means the cat will tolerate a sorta half bath... while cat is staring intrigued at the running tap water, I can wipe them down. Today I was able to shampoo both Rossi and Bodhi. Once they eventually realize they're getting wet, they tend to scrunch against my body, which puts them in a better position to wipe them down some more. I can stabilize them with a hand under their body, get away with a last dump of water with a bowl, and free them.

No upset meowing, no war wounds. And now Rossi is in my lap yelling at me to fluff his fur dry and spank him.

In other news, I found out that the black dots on Rossi's gums are normal for orange cats... like freckles on redheads!! I love my orangies... they're such comedians. And Bodhi will totally let Rossi sleep with him in the tower now.
