Route 66 Road Trip - Day 6
Things I have learned:
1) Apparently, the Vacation Gods require daily monetary sacrifice at the local drug store...Who knew?
2) Leaning water towers and frikkin GINORMO crosses will make us pull off the road to take pictures with equal alacrity.
3) Scary Toilet of Doom is scary.
4) KK (bff), who is 5'3" and has a 24" inseam is a one-woman comedy show when it's time for ni-night and the bed's as tall as her waist.
5) I had an 'Arta Moment' yesterday - driving down the road, I turned to KK and said, "We're doing a roadtrip in a Dodge Charger...It's like Daddy's here with us," and promptly burst into tears right there. Yeah...I really AM turning into my mother.
Today we finished up Oklahoma and drove through most of the Texas panhandle; staying in Amarillo tonight (Cadillac Ranch first thing in the morning! W00-H00!). The long days are starting to catch up with us and we're both pretty tired, even when we get into the hotel at a decent hour. The two nights in Santa Fe to decompress a little will be SO welcome!
