So,
berrylicious877 made me this icon based on a conversation we just had about my general distaste for mass market paperbacks.
I used to have pretty much nothing BUT mass market paperbacks, but somewhere in between moving out of my parents' house, my reading tastes changing somewhat, and starting my book collection almost from the ground up, I stopped buying them. I have a small pile of them still, but most of the books in the house that are that size belong to Shawn, since his video game spinoff books and books about orcs with laser guns are published in that size.
My shelves are filled mostly with hardbacks and trade paperbacks, which I prefer to both hardbacks and small paperbacks. I don't know why...I just do.
But, I enjoy some authors enough that I will buy their books in pretty much any format. Despite my dislike of mass market paperbacks, I purchased one today at Borders--Death's Daughter, the first solo novel by the lovely Amber Benson (from Buffy, etc.).
My biggest fear is that someday I'll actually be published, but in tiny paperbacks. Then I will feel like the BIGGEST HYPOCRITE EVER!
