Yes, it took ankh_hpl to remind me that I have a LiveJournal and most of my connections here would probably be interested in a recent event. Well, you probably already know about it, but in the event you are arriving here via someone else's LiveJournal...
I hereby announce that the second installment of my Poetry Planet podcast segment for StarShipSofa has gone live! It is part of show No. 192 at quite near the beginning of the show. The theme being "First Contact" you'll hear poetry by Scott Green time_shark , ankh_hpl , Dennis Lane, Mary Turzillo, Marge Simon, dreamnnightmare , ysabetwordsmith , Rich Magahiz and Larry Santoro. Dennis Lane and Larry Santoro read there own poems, otherwise I do the reciting.
In the first episode (found here) I basically introduced the segment, genre poetry in general and explained what I hope to accomplish with this podcast. It included poetry by Laurel Winter and Bruce Boston. This 2nd episode being the first "real" Poetry Planet, with a good 20 minutes of poetry, I'm quite pleased with it. It was a lot of work (work that I hope will get easier, more routine with time), but lots of fun too. There is a huge learning curve here!
I am accepting general genre poetry submissions as well as on the themes of "Coming Home" and Time Travel. Please be in touch if you have something you'd like to have appear on StarShipSofa.
