Beginning of Fantasy - A tribute to Nobuo Uematsu performed by Twilite Orchestra

went to the concert with zh3y, Suti, Ryza and pelagica yesterday.

er.... what else can i say? i love nobuo uematsu's works ever since i saw my cousins played Final Fantasy Series looooong time ago. i didn't play the game but i'm very into the music. i love most of the music of this game, especially the piano versions. when i heard that twilite orchestra will held a concert of Final Fantasy music i simply goes 'HUWAAAAAAAAA!!!!' and it's amazing. i loved it. :)

the concert opened with an amazing piece from Final Fantasy VIII, Liberi Fatali. i nearly screamed when the choir chants 'FITHOS LUSEC WECOS VINOSEC'... that means the concert is officially begin! ^^ and i like the fact that the quote FITHOS LUSEC WECOS VINOSEC is actually an anagram of 'Succession of Witches' and 'love'. (i love the song Succession of Witches from FF VIII, especially the piano version. and that song had the quote repeated in the background, too ^^) i always thought that the quote is a chant in latin... i knew pelagica will love this song, with gothic accent in the entire song. yeah well, playing Liberi Fatali as an opening song is great! and they actually showed the introduction 'i'll be waiting.. here.. etc' on the slideshow! wheeeeee!

then they collaborated with singer Arina from the local band 'Mocca', performing the song Melodies of Life. i love this song and the piano version one. ^^ and after that they begin playing the main theme of Final Fantasy XI (and again, i have and loved the piano version of this song) and after that, Arina back to the stage and performed Eyes on Me! my favourite FF love theme song from FF VIII ^^ and then they played Aerith's Theme. Nice!

then the pianist Jessica Gunawan played Tifa's Theme from Final Fantasy VII. i liked her bangs. it's pink. :) ah well, she played nicely and i liked it. and her japanese is great! she said something in japanese and her accent... she pronounced 'concert' as 'konsaato', just like a real japanese. heehee. yeah, no wonder... she's a Final Fantasy otaku too. heh. -__-

hmmm.... i forgot the listings. but they collaborated with Sherina, performed Suteki Da Ne and... heh i forgot the title. -__- but i like sherina's voice anyway.. and she wore a yukata! the first one is red, with asymmetric skirt accent. the second is dark blue-ish with flower pattern, nice one... i liked the blue yukata and i wanted to make something like that for the prom nite (heh, it's like, i have to wait for two years.)

Wasabi played various songs when break. it's the song that reguretto sings at school almost everyday, the 'syalala vanilla'... xD and also they announced the winner of cosplay contest that was held before the concert. third place is Aerith, second is Tifa, and first is Cloud Strife (the power of Final Fantasy VII!! O____o;;) Cloud's costume is coooooool! the cosplayer is very into it, i think. he brought the giant sword everywhere and his hair... spiky! and yellow! very cloud-ish! (if not he wouldn't win, rite?) i want to touch his hair... .___.

yeah anyway, back to the concert. they performed various songs from Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy X which i forgot the title. then, Kevin, the son of Addie MS and my schoolmate when i was in junior high, played Those Who Fight (Piano Version) from FF VII: Advent Children. i have the piano version, and zh3y too. and i know that song is VERY DIFFICULT (at least to me and zh3y). the song is powerful and cooool O__o;; dasar kevin anak durhakaa, kabur dari al-izhar ga bilang-bilang, dan pas muncul main piano-nya kurang ajar pula! oh, and... what the heck with your hairstyle?? xDD

and my favourite part, when the brass section played Chocobo. cute! again, i have the piano version and i loved it. the song is cute and childish, very cheerful. i like when the entire audience clapped following the song's rhythm. heeeeee.

then the twilite orchestra back in action playing various songs from FF VII, FF VIII, and FFX. at the and of the concert, they performed Final Fantasy Theme or Prelude, the song that appears in every Final Fantasy Series usually at the beginning of the game or at the ending credits of the game. this song also usually played at the end of a concert with final fantasy theme. that explains the concert will end. after the song fade, the audience applauds and they played an encore song, One Winged Angel!

They played One Winged Angel the Advent Children Version, my favourite FF song and the song that i waited the most. following the original arrangement, the song was played with a collaboration with Wasabi as a fusion of orchestra and heavy rock. well, they played nicely and similar to the original version by nobuo uematsu and The Black Mages. i simply loved it! and i just realized that most concert from the music of Final Fantasy usually begins with Liberi Fatali, had Eyes on Me performed in the concert, ends with Prelude, and plays One Winged Angel as the encore. and Twilite Orchestra followed this pattern too. Amazing!

i'm quite satisfied of the concert. what made me dissapointed is maybe the lateness and they didn'y play FF VII Main Theme! it's a sin for not to play that! (well, not really...)
yeah, to be honest I LIKE IT. Liberi Fatali as the opening, Prelude as ending and One Winged Angel as encore. simply perfect. ^^

oh yaaaa, i met babon, tenken_chan (Lyssia, do you ever use your LJ? heh?), and Naning. and also some seniors. and VJ Evan who cosplayed as Cloud. he reported the concert for MTV, but why he has to cosplayed Cloud? it's weird to see him as, er, Cloud. heehee. xDDD

now i want them to perform Joe Hisaishi's work. duh.

FITHOS LUSEC WECOS VINOSEC!
