procrastination

Yeah... I'm pretending I'm my college roommate and procrastinating b/c I don't feel like doing my homework!! :-D I have an assignment due in T-4 hours, and I haven't started it yet. It's discussion questions on articles I've only read half of, along with two lesson plans. oops. So sue me for not getting excited about a class where my professor is an idiot. And I have the online chat transcripts to prove it.

I haven't written in two weeks... I'm trying to think of what's new and exciting in Muncy. lol.

Well, last weekend was incredibly awesome. Friday night, Lee came up to chill, which was a good time. We haven't hung out in quite a while. :) Saturday, I went to Little League Opening Day (precious!) and then went out to lunch with Megan and Nicole, two other teachers. That evening was the Cletus gig in Lewisburg, which went realllly well! (Except for our guitar player's girlfriend falling and breaking her ankle... meaning we had to play half our set w/o a guitar!) My boys, Matt (aka flower boy... it's a long story), his friends, and I went out to the Towne Tavern afterward. Lots of amusement followed... :)

This week, now that I think back on it, has been long, but I also feel as if it went relatively fast. We got our chicken eggs at school, so we've started the 21-day incubation process! My kids are thrilled, and I am waaaay too excited as well. :) I hope a bunch of them hatch... when I did this project in 5th grade, only one hatched b/c we were in the middle of renovation, the roof leaked, and the incubators had to be unplugged. It was awful. So, needless to say, I'm guarding these 24 eggs with my LIFE! I want my kids to have a positive experience.

On that note, I'm realizing I'm enjoying my job more and more. My kids are more independent every day, they've learned to coach each other (using strategies I taught them), they're thinking more, and we're just having much more fun. Maybe it's because I only have 28 days left with them, but I'm slowly realizing that this teaching thing isn't so bad after all. :)

Meanwhile, I sent out 4 applications this week, so I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get a call or two this year. (unlike last year!!) Another teacher (who's not even in my grade level team) told me today that she put a letter in on my behalf, which completely made my day. :)

I'm waiting for the 'grove to post... I'd love to get their ESL position, but I doubt I have a shot at that!

Last night we had a cletus (light) gig in the caf. John and George couldn't make it, so it was just eL', Jeff, and me. Surprisingly, it was pretty damn awesome. :-D Then we all went out to BJ's with some HRT (hurricane response team) kids from the various trips. When I was ready to leave, eL' grabbed me in a huge hug and dipped me so far I almost fell over (after drinking a bit, I was a bit unstable, lol.) Fortunately, Jeff came over and completed the cletus hug. It was most definitely the best hug I've had in a long time! :-D

Up for this weekend is Padre's memorial service, dinner w/ Berneice (to celebrate the end of our ESL classes!), Swarna's gig, and going out w/ Matt... we'll see how this all goes. Sunday is typical church-y stuff, followed by cletus.

hope you kids are all doing well... I'm crossing my fingers for a return of sunny spring weather!! later kids :)
