Brutal, brutal day. I think I would have gotten more writing done if I'd gone to my regular three or four hour game, rather than attending the useless-to-me three hour sales meeting that some corporate idiot decided to hold in the middle of the night.
In my scraps of time throughout the day, I didn't even manage the standard daily target, and then to add insult to injury, it was a few minutes past Midnight when I finally updated my word count. Now I have to look at my progress graph in Central time in order not to see the unsightly gap.
Enh. Enough whining.
On the novel front -- And, boy, do I ever need to find a title for this thing. I'm getting really tired of Save As: NaNovel2006. It lacks a certain creative sparkle.
Anyway, I'm a little concerned that my main characters seem to have blown their wads already, as far as the conflict between them goes. The heroine lost her temper and started spouting heresy to the hero, who is now prepared to turn her in as a traitor and condemn her brother as a mutant. She's still sitting on her biggest secret, but what's a little active treachery when just the spoken will get her executed? The hero's sitting on his own secret, but his is much more legal, and not overly surprising given the political and social beliefs he's demonstrated thus far.
Honestly, I'm afraid they can't resolve their conflict. I made them too different. This sucks.
