www.thinkgeek.com/computing/mp3/9bd7/ How much fun is that? I remember making mix tapes back in the 90's...it was the best thing ever. I'd record my favorite songs (usually from Z100) and put them on repeat. It drove my parents crazy. I remember I used to record all the Titanic remixes they did with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's voices. Granted, anyone can make a playlist and upload it to a memory stick, but at the same time, it's a cute idea to put it inside a tape.
What else? The other day, I realized something was terribly wrong on my laptop. All the results when I Googled something looked legitimate, but turned out to be all these garbage advertising sites. On top of that, it took forever to Google something from Firefox. When I looked at the status bar, it said "Connecting to 1.2.3.0..." which definitely wasn't normal. After a bit more Googling, I found
Andrew E Scott's journal, where he describes the same thing happening to him. I should also mention that I ran Spybot, Windows Defender, Trendmicro, and Smitfraudfix, and none of those picked up anything. Scott recommended
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and what do you know? It worked like a charm! Problem solved.
Today felt like a waste of a day. I went to Walgreens in Bridgeport to get photos printed, but their photo machine was broken. I need some of these pictures for Christmas presents. Not to mention how gross it was outside today. I was with my parents (they had to run some errands, and there was no way my Corolla was making it in the snow) so we went to National Wholesale Liquidators to buy some rugs for the basement, and then we went to another Walgreens in Monroe. The woman behind me when I was ordering the pictures was SO obnoxious, she literally stood on top of me. I hate that. But I did get the pictures printed, so that was awesome.
