The Ash hadn’t let up from the other day, much to Sho’s annoyance, bundled in a jacket with a hood and a mask to protect his face. He’d forgotten to check the weather that morning before heading off to work and had gotten to the lobby, saw the weather and had to rush back up the stairs to get his things.

It put him a little bit behind schedule, but not by much.

There was always time for a quick stop off to his favourite bakery!

It was almost 8 in the morning when Sho finally found himself in front of the shop, taking a step inside, the hood and mask he’d been wearing were pulled off just for the moment. Taking a deep inhale, enjoying the aroma of coffee and sweet treats. His stomach was starting to growl impatiently.

Ohno heard the bell ring and looked up from talking to some old ladies in the corner. He waved at Sho and walked towards him.

"Good morning Sho-kun. Your usual?"

"Good morning, Ohno-san! Yes, please!" Bowing at the greeting, Sho shuffled over towards the front, eyes giving a long sweep of the display case. Everything, as usual, looked amazing. He pointed over to some sweets on the bottom shelf, "I'll take a few of these as well. Need something sweet to get me through the rest of the day! Besides all the coffee."

Ohno nodded as he grabbed the sweets at the bottom shelf. "Long day coming up at the hotel?"

"Very long day," Sho agreed with a quick nod, "I'll need a nice large cup of coffee and one of your wonderful pasties to start off the day." As usual. It had become a ritual of his to stop off at the bakery each morning, it also save him the embarrassment of trying to cook himself something edible. He'd burned eggs one too many times to count in the mornings, even if he was getting better at watching the temperature - this was just easier. "How has your day been so far Ohno-san?"

Ohno smiled as he rang up the price on the cash register. "It's was bland. I walked out of my home without a mask so I had to wash my face and grab a mask before biking to work. Shige was here earlier as usual."

"You went outside without a mask? Ohno-san, you should be careful, it's such strange weather. Hopefully it'll end soon. I think I'd rather just have the cold weather." Sho couldn't help but scold the store owner, mostly because he'd done that once already with not so pleasant consequences.

As he went over to the register, pulling his wallet from his back pocket, he looked up at the mention of his friend already having made a visit to the bakery, he must have just missed the other. He was due to seeing Shige soon. "Ah, was he?"

Ohno rubbed his head sheepishly at Sho's scolding. "Gomen neh, Sho-kun. You know how I can get during the morning. Especially during the winter." Ohno held up his hand as Sho placed the money in it. "But I wasn't affected by the Ash so I'm safe for now."

When Sho replyed about Shige, Ohno smiled. "I told Shige about my friend's bookstore. I have never seen he leave my bakery so quickly," Ohno said with a laugh.

"I'd hate to see my favourite shop owner sick!" Sho explained with a smile, hands already going for the coffee as his mind was calling out for something to push away the remaining fog from his uncomfortable sleep.

Sho laughed, turned, and peered out the shop window to the bookstore across the street. He'd never really paid much attention to the place before, but laughed at the image of Shige rushing out the door to explore the bookstore. "That sounds like Shige"

Ohno grinned. "He looked so adorable. I could help by wave at his backside as he walked out the door and across the street."

Ohno gently pushed Sho's food towards the business man. "Here's your breakfast! Don't be late for work, Sho-kun."

"I'm sure he'll be there for hours!" Sho exclaimed, shaking his head at what was probably a true fact. "I hope he finds something good."

Now the fun part, Sho secured his mask over his face and replaced the hood to his jacket over his head. Once he was set to head out and face the weather, he took the bag and clutched it close to his chest, his free hand still holding the cup of coffee. The coffee was his lifeline. "Thank you, Ohno-san! Have a good day, I'll see you tomorrow!" With a muffled good-bye, Sho headed off, out the store and down the street. With his breakfast, and some treats for the staff in his office, Sho was all set for the day.
