Congrats Lydia for getting through for the JET programme <3

This will sound very strange and abrupt, but I just signed a contract to work at the Singapore Eye Centre. Apparently on my second day of work at the guitar shop, they called me back and offered me a position as a Admin Officer. I guess they want me to feel happier that they added an "Officer"  on my position since previously, I applied for a "Admin Assistant" position. It's just like how those cleaning aunties are now known as "Cleaning Consultants" now. I guess it gives them a little bit more pride in their jobs. Anyway, it's a good opportunity as they told me that I'll be aiding their Corporate Communications Dept, and if I do well, I will be converted to a full-time staff. So...I just left my job at the guitar store.

THEN on the day when I'm about to sign my contract to the Eye Centre, MICA called me up and asked me to go for a second round interview, and I was absolutely stunned to hear such news because I really thought I will never get called up for a second interview. (I was uhhhhh, late for my writing test.) Besides, it was close to a month ago that I went for the first interview. This is good news, but the interview will only be held on Wednesday, which is the first day of work for the Admin Officer job. I didn't know what to do, and I stupidly called my recruit agent up (the person who helped me find the job for the Eye Centre) and said that I cannot start work on Wednesday. Obviously she asked me why, and I told her why, and being the lovely, understanding lady she is, she advised me not to go for the interview. Please note that the Eye Centre job is only temporary for a month, and I might not be converted to full-staff status, so all I want to do is to cover my ka-chng (backside) if some freak accident happen (hehe) and I lose my job after a month.

Haha okay lahh I don't blame that nice lady. She just wants to earn commission after all for finding me the job, and if I become a full-time staff, I'm pretty sure she'll get more moolah. But what's nice is that she told me that I'll most probably be converted to a full-time staff anyway, since I like challenges and all. (I don't see the relevance.) If I can get jobs because I like challenges, I will be a CEO by now, because that's what I like to say in interviews. Anyway, to cut the long boring story short, I am going for the MICA interview and I'm starting the other job on Thursday. Yay.

My mother is more excited than me. But for once, God bless her soul.

And also to everyone who endured my horrible mood when I'm jobless, thank you. Especially to Ili because she endured them the most...
