Soon it will be too late.
Then she feels something else. Something warm and rough and alive.
She hears his voice.
“Her skin is still warm, Sherlock.”
“John. John. John. John,” her mind sings.
Something wet is running down her cheeks.
“Are those tears?” she hears John ask.
She’s weeping from joy.
