Back to DITL!

Apr 13, 2016 20:22

So back in January when I said I was going to do DITL every week my first year of teaching, any first year teachers out there were probably falling out of their seats laughing. Because, yo, first year teaching is the real deal. There is work as far as the eye can see. But I'm determined to get in as many DITLs as possible, so here I am enjoying a Sunday.

Wake up--joined, of course, by cats. The cats are probably a good 40% of all my DITLs now. Look how big they are compared to previous DITLs!

I go in for a shower.

I am joined not long after by my stalwart companion.

Allergy season is in full swing, so allergy meds go along with the only cosmetic products I use--lotion.

Dressed fairly presentably, as I'm worship assisting at church and need white clothes that are not visible under vestments. (Worship assisting is not pictured because I didn't bring my camera to church.)

Sunday tradition is to have oatmeal, my favorite breakfast.

Also browsing tumblr incessantly.

I'm doing this drawing course, but the first lesson is just reading through this giant glossary. I do a little bit most days.

Noah poses after setting up this beautiful table that is going to be in my work area.

We groom the cats.

Brig, unhappy about having been groomed.

After that task is over, time for tea!

Followed, of course, by lesson planning. I feel like I am planning all the time. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about planning and data.

I do take a break to watch Bob's Burgers.

When I come back downstairs, the cats are busy snuggling.

Facebook browsing.

Hello, cat friend! (Note data binder in the background.)

I'm quite tired, so I go back up and take a nap.

Then I read, something I cannot often stay awake for during the week.

I come downstairs and join Noah in preparing some ramps that he foraged from a [secret undisclosed location].

Afterwards, celebratory beer!

Nowadays, it's not a DITL without a cat photobomb.

Much better.

I decide to watch a Twitch stream.

Meanwhile, the cats play in the constantly-growing Cardboard Box Cat Playground.

Noah steals the camera to take a picture of me and my cat visitor.

Cat photobomb while watching...I don't even know what.

Then we have dinner, and true to form, I stop taking pictures.
