Aziraphale had finished the Tuesday Leaf shift feeling tired and unsettled, and Wilson had demonstrated that gentle understanding which always endeared him so much to the angel by fixing a light supper of sandwiches and soup and then settling them both in the living room with an old black and white movie. The angel had fallen asleep on the couch, ( Read more... )

Wilson had been reminded of a conversation many years ago when they had talked about what it would be like if Aziraphale had a different form and the young doctor had assured his mate he would love him still. It certainly didn't hurt that Phale had gotten turned into a smokin hot woman and while Wilson had settled himself into a decade of appreciating the male form, he'd been considering broaching the subject of seeing if the angel would be interested in trying things out as a woman.

You know, in case the changed lasted.

However, for the first time in over a week, Wilson was slowly waking to the divine scent of feathers and his fingers burrowed eagerly into the softness of a broad white wing.

"Mmmmm, wiiiinnngg."

"Mmmmm," the angel agreed happily, snuggling up closer, as his wings streeeeeeetched out across the bed. A week was far too long to go without feeling those skillful fingers in his feathers, and Aziraphale sighed, deeply, and turned his head to press a kiss to Wilson's chest.

"Oh, it feels good to be back to normal."

Wilson chuckled and dropped a kiss on the top of his mate's blessedly short blonde hair.

"Normal, love?"

Because really, was there any such thing as 'normal' in their lives?

Hey, there was a certain level of normal! For instance, having wings and not having breasts. Aziraphale would take his normal where he could get it.

Sitting up a little, enough so he could look down into his lover's face, the angel smiled. "Oh, you know, things like being able to do this."

He rested his weight on one arm, and held open his palm, revealing a red rose petal. "It was an interesting experience, but I'm glad to be an angel again."

Smiling at the apperance of the rose petal, Wilson reached up and plucked it out of his lover's hand.

"A beautiful as ever," he murmured and it might be hard to tell if he meant the rose petal or the angel.

Stroking the velvety petal down along Phale's nose, Wilson smiled.

"Be honest, you had a little bit of fun yesterday, didn't you?"

The angel's face creased in a smile, and there was even a touch of pink in his cheeks. "I suppose I did enjoy it a little, once I got used to things," he admitted. "Although I do feel awfully bad about leading on Deputy Winchester. First time I've ever had more than half of my customers flirt and try to chat me up, though. That was certainly interesting."

He wrinkled his nose at the tickling of the petal, and brushed his lips to Wilson's. "You were hiding out and watching the whole thing, I'll bet."

"And laughing myself stupid," Wilson admitted, grinning as he touched his lips back to Aziraphale's and then rubbed noses with the angel.

"I got snogged by two different people," Aziraphale remarked. "It makes me wonder at the amount of snogging that must go on around my shop when I'm not there."

He chuckled softly at the nose rub, and snuggled up a little closer. "It was certainly a learning experience."

"Two? I only saw you macking on who I have to assume is Captain Harkness?" Wilson rumbled back, settling his arms more contently around the angel.

Mmmm wiiiiinnnnggg.

With a soft chuckle, Aziraphale rolled over so that Wilson could rest against his chest, wrapped in the cocoon of his wings.

"Yes, that was Captain Harkness. He's like that." Just in case the young doctor had any suspicions that the angel might still be carrying on his recent affair with Jack. "The other was Miss Bates. I don't know that you can see her, love? She's a ghost, poor girl. I think she gets lonely."

Oh now that was much better. Wilson settled in with a content little sigh and lay his head down on the pillow of Phale's chest.

His nice, masculine chest.

"I guess I can't as I don't know a Miss Bates. Is she haunting our house?"

"Oh no, just the town in general. She died not very long after I first came to get us settled in. I believe she was a student here."

Aziraphale closed his eyes contentedly, stroking his fingers absently down Wilson's arm as they snuggled and talked. "I like her, she's a nice young lady. And let's see...well, you probably also saw Deputy Winchester exercising his charm, and Gregory exercising his unfortunate lack thereof."

"You did very well in not smacking him across the face," Wilson agreed, wriggling a little to encourage the touch of those beloved fingers.

"House would probably be a hell of a lot more offensive than he is if it weren't for the fact that he spreads to offensiveness around equally."

"Oh, he doesn't bother me, really. I know it's just...his personality, not anything actually personal," Aziraphale replied, shrugging off the encounter. "Marie made a nice offer to take me shopping if I needed. I'm almost sorry I actually missed out on that one. But perhaps I'll go with her sometime anyway."

It was the sort of thing mothers and daughters did, the angel thought. And since Marie had two fathers instead, well...he was probably the closest thing.

Marie would probably have more fun with Phale on that mission than with Wilson who would want to buy really hideous ties!

"You should," the doctor said softly, eyes closed as he snuggled beneath the warmth of soft feathers. "New Orleans is a beautiful and unique city. You two could go in for a day trip. I'll even let her drive the Aston."

Because there was no way in HELL Phale was allowed behind the wheel.

"Dean said once that I should think about a trip to New Orleans. You and I should go sometime. Get out for some dancing, see the sites," Aziraphale murmured, nodding in agreement that maybe a bit of a shopping trip would be an interesting idea. "I'll mention it to Marie, too. I expect she'd jump at the chance to drive the Aston."

That was all right, the angel knew by now not to even bother suggesting that he be allowed to drive. Of course, he much preferred being a passenger anyway.
