braid of devotion
I wore my hair long for him. Mourning traditions in multiple cultures involve a woman's cutting her hair when her mate dies. Others consider a "gift of hair" as a sign of devotion. This afternoon, this braid was cut from my head, and will be delivered to the mortuary tomorrow, to be cremated with him.
