Celebrating Himself v. 2011: Staging
Saturday, October 1st presented itself as "another beautiful day in Paradise", as Himself often says. Sunny and warm - but not excessively so. Since we didn't have to be in the City before dinner, he had arranged to spend some time coaching the newest members of his Orienteering team, which left me time alone at home to put the finishing touches on my arrangements. All he knew was that he needed to be home in time to shower, dress, and be ready to leave for San Francisco by 5:30.
The arrangements for the cupcakes became a non-issue when the lovely Jen, of Cups and Cakes, offered to deliver them to SF Citadel after she closed her shop at 7:00. With RSVPs for 5 confirmed and 2 maybe, I called the restaurant and arranged for a table for 7-9 on their outdoor patio. I packed several items necessary to the evening's surprises, and laid out appropriate clothing for him to wear. I showered, and dressed, and waited for the evening's celebration to begin.
