Life, v. 2008

Jan 02, 2009 23:39

Well, it does seem to be the time of year when we take stock of things in life, doesn't it? In my own "Year in Review," I find that in 2008:

- I changed jobs, again. Though it certainly has come with its own challenges, it does appear to be an upgrade.

- I voted for a woman and an African American in the Presidential primary and general elections.

- I worked in the fight against Prop 8. And this fight is not over - not by a long shot.

- I traveled to visit family in Portland twice. (In fact, I'm writing this from a Holiday Inn Express in Eugene, Oregon on my way back home.)

- I did more kink community service. (Served as Janus Coordinator, served on the SFCitadel Advisory Board, taught 38 classes for the kink community, hosted 11 pre-party munches, organized and hosted the 9th annual Dog-n-Pony conference, helped organize LLC XII, helped organize LLW, presented at five kink conferences, hosted 4 Primal parties and helped host 3 Citadel parties. Also presented on BDSM outside the community for IASHS, SFSU and Berkeley Free Clinic. *whew*)

and ***drum roll please***

- I just completed my Masters degree, and will be graduating with highest honors (perfect 4.0 GPA). I won't walk the stage until May 2009, but I'll have that piece of paper in hand very soon now.

I have more to say about this and other stuff - including some thoughts about 2009 - but I wanted to post at least this before we got too far into the new year.

grad school, job stuff, politicosm, family, kink
