She had left Hermes, sure he'd be mending properly now, after a little TLC from a friend. She felt bad of course - She wasn't the root of his illness at all, but she hadn't made things better either, And she admitted that maybe, this once, her timing had been off. Still... She loved both of them, and was getting rather fed up witrh all the freaky ( Read more... )

How dare Hermes presume I do not know the meaning of Mercy? I am an erote, I know mercy! Before he'd received the chance to answer Hermes' question regarding reasons why he chose not to kill him, which Anteros thought he'd already presented to the mortal god when he mentioned Nemesis who was not fond of patricide. Anton had stepped in trying to play hero! Oh how he detested his interference at the moment, prattling on about their relationship and then having the audacity to bring Antigone into something that did not concern her. Anton said he didn't know what he is capable of? What the bloody hell? If anything that kind of interference was part of Hermes problem, everyone kept interfering each time he was being punished for his wrong doing. First Antigone, then Strife Anteros only presumed and now Anton. The vindictive erote hadn't been at all surprised for Zeus to show up shortly after and dismiss him and he was even less surprised to hear his mother invoke him home...to her home ( ... )

Anteros.

She smiled sweetly.. too sweetly... And just looked at him for a moment. He was her child. Her son. She loved him above all things. But...there were times she really wantyed to wring his neck

What the name of creation are you DOING.

"Mum," he smiled equally as sweet greeting her, perhaps a bit unsettling.

"Doing? Ah yes! You are of course referring to what fiasco I just came from?"

You think?

She nodded, arms crossing over her chest, hair still damp from her bath, curling around her brow

Sit. Please.

So Tell me. What's the deal?

He sighed, "The deal is that he broke Peitho's heart and I went to find him and when I found him he desired... pain. And then Anton stepped in."

You're getting too personal.

"Not at all, Why would you think so? I would think Anton was getting too personal," he bristled.

Anteros... Baby.

I know you've things with Peitho.

I know you and Hermes are often at each other's throats.

But. They are married. They've got a lot of problems between them. they need to work them out. And they're going to hurt each other through the process. You need to back off, and let them work on things.

"And that is the reason why my relationship with Peitho has no bearing what so ever on what happened there tonight. I was simply avenging love, and I chose to go about it differently than I usually do. But I assure you my own connection to Peitho had little to do with it," he paused.

"Actually I think Hermes wanted it."

I don't *care* if Hermes wanted it... You do not go beating on any mortal... not like Anteros. You. Need. To. Back. Off. Until you start avenging every woman who's husband makes her cry like that every day? You're too close. And you're not going to convince me a reaction like that wasn't personal.

They need to fix their problems. You're not helping that. Avenge the love when it's over... not while it's still holding on. Love is about possibility, Ant. You know this.

Nodding, "Yes, it is. However I still maintain the belief that he deserved it. The knowledge that he and Peitho are mortals is only a minor technicality, even the knowledge that he keeps her distraught can not compare to the fact that Hermes eluded my punishment before with the interference of his daughter---and learned nothing."

"It's not that I want or take great pleasure out of his suffering mother, I never did, and all he had to do was ask me to stop and I would have. But his pride, it keeps him from recognizing that sometimes you have to learn to compromise in order to rectify an error."

And *your* pride keeps you from stopping before he begs. Compromise works both ways.

She sighed, rubbing her temple lightly as she looked at him. She didn't like this at all...this discussion. this tension.

My pride? I had no error to rectify. What could I have gained from stopping? Perhaps an insult from his mouth informing me that I didn't have it in me?

Error.. you should not have been manhandling him to begin with! Anteros. Really. Are you going to try to tell me that you truly feel manhandling someone in that way, no matter who they are, is appropriate?
