You know, much as I love to complain, there are good things that come with working in a crappy retail job.
#1 - Cute girls come through all the time.
#2 - Said girls may ask you to go along to their Unitec student play as they are training as a director. That was a fun night.
#3 - Older girls may make absolutely dropdead delicious banana cake for you and deliver it to you at work. Wicked.
Also, You know what's fun? Finding $50 on the footpath. Yes, I know the old hypothetical, but there was no-one around and it was out in the middle of nowhere, no way of figuring out which way the owner could have gone. And so I now own
The Ladies of Grace Adieu as well as
Volkerball. These are both excellent things.

A quick catchup. My thumb is pretty sore. I got the cast refitted today and pretty much the ball of my thumb up to the nail is yellow from bruising. And it was really wierd moving my wrist again after a week! But what's more annoying is the jaw that hurts when I eat sometimes and the ribs that ache when I try to bend and the scabby elbow that just hurts sharply whenever breathed upon...
So, it shouldn't be long before I'm fixed, but its darn annoying. ACC only covers second week and beyond of time off for an accident so I've had to be at work with most of my upper torso not really functioning up to par... Yay.

Well, writing wise, so far so good. Got another 1000 words down which have brought in a new character and moved to the location of some action. I'm keeping in mind the sort of character my main is supposed to be as well as the 'themes' that got me to start writing and everything is being skewed by that. I still have no idea what's happening next or what this guys arc is, but it's interesting going so far. I'm really indulging my slang, swearing and purple prose so far though.
And I sent an old story to a mate and the response they gave addressed the themes and how they came out which really dusted off some cobwebs and made me see where the bits I didn't like were and how I could add and mix some more that I might get it closer to 'finished' with.

So... On Wednesday I was supposed to get Annalise from Taupo. But Louise txted me to let me know that both she and our daughter were really really sick and not only would she be unable to get to Taupo, but that she didn't want Annalise travelling. Now, I'm not thinking that she was lying or exaggerating her sickness. But it really annoyed me that she didn't think that Annalise would be taken care of by her father. And it also gave me a sense of anger that someone might think I only want to be around my daughter for the good times, instead of all the times including the bad ones. Hurumph.
And so, as I had already taken Wednesday off in order to make the trip, I rearranged it so that I would become hugely indebted to my sisters who would go to Taupo today (Friday) while I was at work. But at 7am I got a txt from Louise saying that, while they had gotten better in between, now Louise was dreadfully sick again. So, my sister's already on the motorway, I had to convince them to go all the way to Woodville to get Annalise.
Again, I think she acted completely reasonably given her being very sick, but it just... Gah.
