"Shut Up Ricky! I'm Sick of this Shit."

Cause For Alliance will be playing their first show at the King's Arms on the 12th of April. That's a Thursday. I don't know the price yet, but they're playing with three other bands including Cold By Winter. Be There!

For the first time since I began playing the weekly poker at Chad's place, I didn't make my money back last week.

I know. I thought the world was about to go spinning off like a child's toy through the cosmos. The fear was thick.

But apparantly the universe doesn't revolve around me and has continued on, which meant I have to figure out what went wrong. Two things immediately come to mind.

#1 - Ostia wasn't there for the first time. Apparantly she could be seen as a red-headed over bubbly irish good luck charm.
#2 - Tom didn't show up like he was thinking of doing which dropped the amount of players down just under having enough money to split three ways. As I came third, this would have solved everything.

My poker skills are not to be questioned, clearly I am not to blame ;p

Unfortunately I won't be able to rectify this greivous mistake next week. I shall explain.

As I was driving through Te Atatu on Friday I was listening to The Rock on the car radio. They announced one of those things were a branded car pulls up somewhere with freebies was just arriving in Te Atatu Woolworths. I was literally going past at that second and just turned the wheel. I wandered up to the crew as they were still getting there stuff out of the car.

So I said 'How about some free stuff?' and got given some sachets of superglue, some mints, a bag of chips, a Rock car sticker and... A double pass to go see that new Tim Allen, John Travolta movie on Wednesday night at St Luke's. I think thats an early showing or something?

So that's where I'll be poker night.

The other night I picked up some promo cards for some of the stuff for the Auckland Festival. Does anyone want to go see Max Black in a few weeks? It says its about a pyromaniac professor, a character between an insane scientist and a childish dreamer. The 'play' is supposed to combine experimental music, fine art and theatre with pyrotechnics. It's about $45 but it sounds cool. Tom, I'm thinking of you in particular here.

The second one is called the Spaghetti Western Orchestra plays a lot of stereotypical western ochestral pieces and is supposed to be hilarious according to their promo. They're a bit cheaper, around $30, but they're on over the same few days.

Lastly, my mum saw an ad in the local newspaper for something called Risky Business on Thursday nights. Basically its local actors doing theatresports, along the lines of Whose Line Is It Anyway. I've got to find out some more about that one, but I think she said Thursday nights at 8. I'll get back to you with whether it looks worth going to see.

Finally, the other day I heard Cake - The Distance on the radio and I've made a decision. I want all that Cake (and, somehow, this extended to also include) and the Fun lovin' Criminals to play really bloody loud in my car.

That Is All.

music, free stuff, cake, movies, cause for alliance, poker, fun lovin criminals
