So,
Janelleyelled up the stairs at about 10 on Saturday that she was heading into town and did I want to come along. Being as I had just posted about a PS2 game I'd been playing most of the evening, the concept of actual socialisation seemed like a good one.
As we drove over to town I got a txt from
Chad asking if I wanted to shoot over. I will have to head over there more often.
The bar we met her friends in was really not very impressive. And they had the worst college covers band I have ever heard ever. They were playing Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Franz Ferdinand, Elemeno P, etc, and they were useless and the singer had the lyrics on a stand in front of him. I've heard better Kareoke.
So we went round the corner to another bar and we were the only ones in there...
So then we went to Hysteria. Two of Janelle's friends left and one other got her to take him home shortly after we arrived, so me and one other guy sat around chatting and listening to fairly cheesy eighties metal.
A couple of cute girls sat down and chatted with us, and we spent the evening smoking and boogieing with them, which was good. They said they go there quite often so we may just bump into them again.
Just before we left the music changed styles and tended towards the nu-metal spectrum, kinda sounded lika Papa Jack's which was excellent. Felt much more like shaking my groove thing to that than to the hardcore and speed metal.
By the time I walked in the door at 5 am I was ravenous and had stopped for two pies and two chocolate bars and I even took two carrots from the fridge. Unfortunately I only got four hours sleep and was so thirsty the next day. So, so thirsty.

Cripple Mr Onion are playing Hysteria on Friday! In, like, five days! Yay!
This is an open invitation to anyone in Auckland who wants to join me hearing some progressive metal on Friday night! Opening acts are some local Auckland band and Slipping Tongue, an excellent chick fronted band from Rotorua. Being in the bar about 8 - 9 should mean getting to see everything.
Despite the admittedly high bogan count, Hysteria feels good to me. Just, unfortunately, surprisingly empty too often. I'll be heading back there.
