Writing... I used to do that, you know.

Do you remember a long long time ago I wrote about how I was going to start up a webcomic blog? It was over here at The Kea's Nest and it was fun. I read a lot of comic strips online and talked about what I liked every day.

I didn't think it was that much more time on the computer, but obviously I was already spending too much. So when I cut back on all the other web things, I shut down shop there.

But when I started one of the known voices in the small cricle of webcomic blogs recognised me and said they liked what I did. And then they said some fairly nice things when they saw I was done.

My westie mates have finally managed to get together into a band that is gelling. They've been through a few singers and drummers and the occasional extra guitarist, as well as going into bands just one of them and not the other. But finally they're getting something going.

They haven't got many songs yet, and they're planning on polishing them up and getting out to do some gigs, but they had the oppourtunity to record a song and they took it.

You can hear it on their MySpace (and geez thats a lot of people floating around on there...) but I warn you now that it is very heavy. I normally wouldn't like the style much myself, but its my mates so.

I have been finding it really hard to write recently. But I managed to get some thoughts down into some poems the other day.

See what you think:

ASHES

I pull my black jacket tighter
hiding my uniform
while I stand in the carpark
beneath the offices
and light my cigarette.

Across the park
full of laughing children
I can see the bus-stop
where people chat
and smoke their own.

Pedestrians everywhere
go about their lives;
important places to go
while I stand still,
breathing deep.

Is it too much to ask
that they all disappear
when everything for me
has vanished?
I grind the butt into the tar.
